I am coming at this from a new players perspective since I have only been playing for about 3 weeks. I think the UI2.0 is an unpolished product but I see the potential. Threre are several things missing that makes it feel cumbersom and frustrating. Specifically when trying to purchase mechs or find specific items on a mech in order change things around from mech to mech.

First, things I do like. Pressing ESC to bypass the splash screens instead of the spacebar.
I like the easily scrollable list of owned mechs and that you can sort them by weight class (I wish it was available in the mech purchse screens). I like the new Skills section. I like the new information pages that scroll out when you hover over an owned mech (I wish it was available in the mech purchse screens). I like that when you launch a group that it gives you the option of choosing which mode at the time of launch (I would like to see a Training Grounds Mode option placed there).

Things that are missing:
1. There is absolutely no information about purchasable mechs being displayed except the name and the thumbnail.
2. Missing information about what is currently loaded on a mech:
--- a. What modules are installed on a mech
--- b. number of heatsinks
--- c. Amounts of ammo for each weapon that needs ammo
3. The amount of C-bills, GXP, MCs are missing from the home page and could be more prominent in areas where it is visible
4. The "Check Out" button? Are we purchasing mechs from Amazon?
5. The whole loadout process could be better presented:
--- a. When a player owns an item that can be equipped the border should be colored green (similar to the previous UI) with a green "EQUIP" button. Right now the text and area for the "Owned" section is rather small so I can see some new people accidently pressing "equip and not seeing how much they are spending"
--- b. When the player does not own the item but can afford it, the non border that exists now is fine, with a "Add to Cart" button (in keeping with with the "Check Out" theme).
--- c. when unable to equip or purchase use the red border.

What I would like to see:
1. Since this is very much a group based game, it stands to reason that the social panel button should be more than just a 1/2 inch flashing button at the bottom of the UI. A larger button that flashes when you have been sent a message or been invited as a Friend or to a group instead of having to use the small blue button. I mean come on the "PURCHASE MC" button is not exactly subtle.
2. An ala carte page where I can purchase a piece of equipment without having to equip it directly onto a mech in order to "Check out" (here we are at Amazon again).
3. The ability to enter the training grounds as group. It would be so much more beneficial for new players to be able to get into the training grounds with an experieced player so they aren't being dropped onto a map without so much as a clue.

The new UI is not very convenient, but it is only the first stage of the UI 2.0.
I would like to filter out trial 'Mechs, sort my 'Mechs in any way I want, and a better visual way with customization (as in, I click at the central torso of my 'Mech to modify it).

Just quickly scanned your post and one thing caught my eye

Quote

1. There is absolutely no information about purchasable mechs being displayed except the name and the thumbnail.

This exists, all you have to do is hover your cursor over the mech to bring up the tooltip which tells you a lot of stuff.
THERE IS A BUG THOUGH: If you click on the mech, and don't move your mouse... nothing will show up!!! You need to move your mouse off the mech icon, and back onto it to bring up the mech's info tooltip.

Hope this helps! I'll give it a full read soon. just wanted to mentioned this quickly for ya.
