Will they fire on an enemy mech if a friendly mech is in the way and hit the friendly instead?
If they cannot see an enemy in range due to cover, if a friendly mech has the enemy targeted, can the turret share targeting data?
Can friendly mechs use the targeting data of the turrets?

Targeting data is not shared. They co-operate and focus targets. They will target cored mechs with higher priority unless they move out of range.
Not sure about the reaction of turrets with friendly mechs and teammates.

Are you sure about the targetting cored mech's? That seems counter to what Paul posted.

They will only focus fire a mech if that is the only one they can see. As soon as a second mech comes into the picture at least one will target the new mech it can see and leave the rest to the other turrets.
They share targeting info. It is done by distance to a point because if it was left to just distance they would look stupid switching from one target to another whenever a closer one enters their targeting grid.
PS : LRM Turrets will be susceptible to ECM next patch.

Can you not do that? ECM is strong enough as is.
I get it, ECM blocks LRM's (which is silly anyway), but god stop expanding it's powers.
Is there any chance you guys can revisit ECM to make it so it doesn't block locks, and instead adds a delay in locks?
I hope you guys are noticing that people are really over the whole PPC/AC/Pinpoint meta. SRM's and LRM's need to be more viable.
Right now LRM's require your target to either be totally new, or extremely un-skilled at the game to work unless you are in a VERY coordinated group.
And the SRM problems, I'm sure you know them.

how is this expanding the "problems" it just makes it work the same as it does with every other system. There's way too many counters available to ECM now for anyone to call it "op"

I'm not getting into this stupid conversation again. The counters are bad, and bore from the fact that ECM is stupidly built in this game. We've had to add 5 new abilities to items that generally didn't have them, because we need Counter Measures FOR the Counter Measure.
It's counter intuitive as hell.
And this just creates balance issues.
Light mechs who have ECM are completely immune to LRM turrets. Light's without ECM are not.
A team that drops with ECM can engage at the Turrets and turn off LRM's, if a team drops without ECM they are crap out of luck.
This is not good balance. It's bad balance, and a bad item.
Make ECM a counter measure to the other electronics like it was supposed to be in the first place.

Mount TAG on em, please. They may not be that smart, but they don't have to be THAT stupid.

So if an ECM 'Mech closes to within 200m and shuts down LRMs, does the turret have other options, or will it simply go passive?

No I understood.
I do not like it at all.
Really Thomas, why does the Electronic Counter Measure end up being a Counter Measure for everything but Electronics? And now the Electronics (NARC/BAP/TAG) are countering ECM.
I wish you guys would revisit ECM locking out missiles like this.
