Sorry but no. Learn how to use the new weapon system or switch to any of the AC's or PPC's if you don't want the charge mechanic. It's not that hard to get used to and many feel it was a good addition to the game.
Why no? Please elaborate, don't just say the usual "learn this or that", "use this or that instead if learning is too difficult". And then you say "its not hard" and "many feel its a good addition" (not really, when you say its a good addition, there's no adding factor here, when you add you make more, " good replacement" would be a better wording). But then if its indeed a good addition to the game, why not stretch it to "add more type of weapon" level.
Well, I have yet to see a poll where the result of new charge gauss is better is more majority than keep the old gauss. And the number of gauss user in game drop signigicantly nowadays. I used gauss a lot back then and I got shot by gauss a lot as well. Nowdays despite people say better, easy, etc etc. I pop my assault mech out at +1000m distance and barely if not never getting snipe by a charge gauss. And please saying "I have a mech configured with gauss" is different than actually using it. Heck I get sniped more with er-ppc, ac2, and er-laser...oh and laser tag followed by rain of LRM (good tag people...i hate you

)
And there're still people saying "it IS hard to use that charge gauss" about as much as those who love charge gauss.
I'm just saying put BOTH. Everybody is happy.
Unless of course, the so called people who say "its SOO easy to learn the charge gauss mechanism" or " charge gauss is the best innovative idea PGI implemented" or something along those line, actually fear that if people are given choice, many would switch back to the old traditional gauss despite all the "advantage" the charge gauss has. But honestly, back before the charge gauss era, I've seen people using ac, laser, ppc, as many those who use gauss. Gauss just stand out because once you mount one, you can barely put other weapon on the mech unless you sacrifice the chance to carry a decent amount of gauss ammo.
