anythign informaional ina small screen si ncie, also add the mastery symbol to give a quicker information on which chassis still have to be mastered.

there should generally be a simplified mechlab, that errases all the pictures. especialyl in the loadoutconfig. finding the right ammo is sometimes a pain. A alphabetical list would be much nicer.

I mean its a mechLAB, but yet with all these pictures it somehow looks more like a mechSHOP.

I would like to see modules installed in a more user friendly way. As far as all of the other information e.g. weapons, ammo, engine size, etc I do not really need that on there, the icon should be a snapshot. Hovering over the mech provides me the other information I need. What would be nice is to be able to mark favorites again.

I would like a simple, good visible table/list, mostly without Icons, and WITHOUT Big Mech Pictures!, etc.

Something like:

MECH NAME....MKD-319.....XL 245.....2x AC2.... ERLL... 2 ML.... Advance Zoom.... AC2 RM....ERLL RM....[---->Open MechLab ]

Greetings all,

The Mech images are for those that don't have any reference or knowledge of the BattleTech Lore.
- Associating the image with the chassis.

Impulse buying from just the looks of a Mech has played quite a role in the franchise so far.
- Marketing probably involved heavily here.

Every other offering of BattleTech and Mech Warrior has had images to match what chassis or version your looking at.
- But normally at a reduced listing and not covering the entire screen with images.
- We have yet to see what the latest version of the next UI will look like, there have been comments that it's more streamlined.
- Locating items and components has been a real frustration for many, hopefully this will be a high priority item with the new UI.

For the 'advanced' users possibly there could be a choice of image listing or removing the Mech images to just have the chassis id indicators and specs? A single check box on the page, selectable 'on the fly'.

I can understand the frustration, but I think this is kind of a bad idea. I agree with most comments that more upfront information is good, but I think adding these icons and text unnecessarily clutters things (What if all my 60 mechs have the same engine? I want to see Weapons installed instead!)

In mechlab, you can click the 'mech details' button to see all your components loadouts at once, so I don't see that as a problem. In the other places we already have the hover popout control. It would be nice if there was a smaller delay from the mouse hovering to displaying this popout window, but I think this information is already presented in that window? if it isn't, that would be a better place to put it, I think.

I agree wit the problem, but I don't like this particular solution.

That would be great. Or as I posted in another thread:

One should be able in config screen of selected mech simply to click wanted module. Program should then told you, that that module would be removed from mech-xy and mounted on mech-zy and if you really want to do it. No searching (altho it wouldnt be bad if there would be tab on home screen where all bought modules would be listed and where are mounted ATM.

Small icons representing which modules are on each mech, and a bit of text denoting the engine.
Would make it much easier to find your gear... especially when you have 60 + mechs to rifle through <_<

And guys, hit the UI 2.0 suggestion compilation thread and point out what I've missed.

Yes very much

Hell, even the mastery level, an icon showing there's modules at all, and the engine size, would be spectacular.

Yes please! We need to buy 4 of each kind for CW anyway, so i would really appreciate it if PGI could implement this or something similar!

The so often suggested 'Strip Modules of all Mechs' button won't cut it if we need to prepare 4 mechs for CW to be ready at the same time.

I think that the greatest fix to this would be to have the UI do the swap for you. So you opened up your Firestarter and realize that you don't remember where you left your XL295. Instead of thinking to yourself "I think I left in my Raven..." You click on Engine and scroll down to XL295 and there it is. Instead of saying "Owned 0" it says "Owned 1". You think, "sweet" and hit equip and a message pops up that says "This item is currently in use by another mech. Reassign?" with a "Yes" button a "Cancel" button and a "Purchase New" Button. Easy. Done. No searching. No need for nifty little icons. It can do it for EVERYTHING. Engines, Heatsinks, modules, AMS, ammo...whatever...Sky's the limit. If you don't already own a version, it automatically purchases it just like now.

too easy

Text would be just fine, no need for icons.

Yes but only in a generic way. Something to show that there are modules of any kind equipped for the following:

Consumables
Mech
Weapon

That would mean a total of 3 icons, for space-saving purposes!

Text takes to much space. Also i would like to position the icons not in the avatar but beneath the avatar.
So it gonna look like this.

[----mech name ----]
[---avatar image----]
[---module icons----]
[---custom name----]
[-----configure-------]

For me the current engine description is a must. Since this information is missing everywhere except when you going to edit that specific mech.

In mine opinion UI changes are need te be done from a User experience perspective and not from a terrible marketing strategy. When i pay for a $30,00 dollar mech I expect that the user interaction interface is top-notch when i want to edit my $30,00 dollar mech. Not to mention when i payed atleast $200,00 dollars for this game in total!

Does this even need a poll?

i mean... its obvious... one would wonder why it is not in the game in the first place.

I voted no not because its stupid like the poll option says, but because I really would not have a use for it. Id rather have a general way to find modules so I can equip them in my chosen mech.
