For the love of God don't break the goddamn jumpjets. It's one of the few joys I have left in this game, jumping my jenners and spiders. They nerfed Jump Jets once, I seriously, seriously would hold it against them if they finally ruined them.

And every MW game that has followed suit has had the same issues.
Correlation?
Ding! ding! We have a winner. There is a reason most shooting games have some kind of recoil and or dispersion system. Its good enough for RL too. And it provides so many possible tie ins to other gameplay factors....type of actuators present, actuator and or weapon damage, heat! , movement!. Targetting computer for clans. Heavy laser/mrm penalty. I dont understand why it isnt a factor.
With that and hardpoint weapon size limits we might even get rid of ghost heat.

Agreed. This will allow all kinds of other mechanics to be added to the game.
The longer PGI waits to fix this problem, the harder it will be to remove and fix later. Hell, attempting to fix this now will already make stuff that players have paid money for invalid (champion mechs).

The sad part is while they continue to talk about how their engineers are combating the problem of bad SRM hit detection, the reality is slow moving projectiles are always more prone to lag-missing than faster ones just through virtue of the delay mattering less.
What am I saying?
- Load the Weapons XML in a notepad editor.
- Search SRM.
- Change the Velocity number for each SRM to slightly increase it (say, 200m/s)
- Hit Save
- Test Results

Ohm, Ryan, Kaffe, and the rest of you comp-league trollbeards making your entire tier look like garbage in this thread…I’ma lay something out for you, here.
Taunting the rest of us does not make you awesome.
The constant belittlement, name-calling, and accusations are, at this point, completely unwarranted. Frankly, they were never warranted. Do I get all up in your grills and accuse the goose-stepping tryhards of the MWO community of pushing the meta into such prominence and saddling us with the results? No – because that’s just the way you guys play, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with not being a hyper-competitive organized league player. You guys need us a whole lot more than we need you – the solo-dropping Puglandia Legions are the ones providing the player base that keeps this game going, and I bet you’d be shocked at how many of us casual solo-droppers are also the ones contributing bucks to the game’s continued maintenance and development. I own seven Hero ‘Mechs (Knell, Oxide, Ember, X-5, Wang, Flame, Slayer), nearly forty bays, several MC colors and assorted other random swag, and the red star under my name to the left over there speaks for itself.
You want me to take my support elsewhere? You want everyone who’s not a cutthroat, win-or-die-in-a-fire supercompetitive player to go elsewhere so you can have your proper league games? You want to “give us our own corner to go be mediocre in”? Fine, want that all you want – but realize that such a desire is unanimous with desiring the death of the game.
Go find and read the plethora of articles on the Spike/Jonny/Timmy triangle of player archetypes available from the TCG scene. When you’re making Victor cod-whalloping Morson look like a voice of reason and compassion, you are doing it wrong to such an extent it’s painful to behold.
Here’s the thing – I don’t care what you play. I don’t really care what the meta is or isn’t at any given time, save to take it into my calculations of expected opponents when I’m in the Mechlab. I know better than to think that league folks aren’t going to adapt and overcome a lot quicker than anyone else, and frankly I don’t care about that, either. I don’t even care that my Victors are slated for the nerfhammer – frankly, I somewhat agree with Paul that the things feel more nimble than they probably should with double basics unlocked, though I wish he’d find a way to counter that without making them impossible for folks without double basics to use.
What I care about, and what I want you to dispense with, is not ‘The Meta’ or your desire for efficient, game-winning builds. Play PP/5 Highlanders all you bloody well please. I want you to pitch this scornful, dismissive, belligerent attitude you’ve got going on that makes the rest of us want to rise up as one and punch you in the nuts. You’re not cool to be around. I would actually deeply enjoy a chance to drop against Victor – in recent interactions with the man he’s proven himself to be insightful and concerned with the common man far beyond the rest of you blustering blowhards, and even though he’d tear me open in seconds I would relish the chance to see what he’s got in person.
The rest of you? Ohm, Ryan, Kaffe, all the other jackwad ‘Best Highlander Pilots In The Game’? If by some black miracle of ELO I saw any of you on the other side of the field, I’d just grit my teeth and endure it. Not because of the skill imbalance – losses happen, who cares – but because you folks are bassholes and I do not wish to play this game with you.
Consider that whining and crying and “being a terribad” all you want. I’ll tell you right now which one of us is more toxic and detrimental to this game as a whole.

I do love to pop snipe. Its the reason I play this game. I have loved it since MW4 and did it till the death of that game. That being said... I don't have to pop snipe. I also like brawling and will win doing it. I can also long snipe without JJ's.
I'm pretty confident that I can beat you in any play style, in any mech class, using whatever weapons you want. When and if MWO makes a lobby system we will prove it over and over again. You will still go cry over and over again. Except this time you will have the option of staying away. Lets face it... you will. You will go back to the players that just cant figure out how they got beat. Then the real fun starts. That's when you start accusing people of hacking. It's all written down in the noob handbook thats sitting on your desk. Just read it man.

The epeen patrol must have gotten an emergency call for this thread. Bragging would be an improvement...
Also, where do you guys come up with all these new (and rather ignorant sounding) words? Terribad? As if Terrible, or Bad wasn't enough, let's activate the wonder bread twins rings, and make a new stupid word that is even worse!
It's hard to take some of you seriously when you are cramming your stats, e-peen bragging, and smashing words together till then are actually meaningless. Granted, I'm a long time player from when the game first came out, so I did actually go to school, and grow up, get a job, etc... (you've heard that drivel before), but I didn't lose my vocabulary just because I had to find a way to make myself sound so much better than the next guy.
Meta Gamers - Don't want anything to change the meta. We got it. It's going to happen though.
Non-Meta-gamers - Don't want to actually play against metas because you are the equal of WoW min/max players. You have to find the exact build with the biggest gain and/or expoit, then use it, and say it's skill.
Personally, I'm good with killing all weapon systems while in the air. Just because I think it would be funny to see the replies from the vocal minority meta gamers in here.
Anyhow, good luck for everyone because no one will end up happy with all this bitching and whinning.

go watch a stream on how brawling is done.
Only 3 videos there: 1 explaining ELO, Splatcat footage and an 11-months old video of a 9 medium laser 4P Hunchy from 3 months before heatscale...I guess I got str8 pwnd. Regardless, I give you the benefit of the doubt that you're numbers are true but that misses the point.
Respect to good players...but to come on and say you are "the greatest of pilots" and then fire up your client and spend your nights leaning on the unbalanced options? Stream away......

And now the personal attacks...what a mature and well founded argument.
You can have your duel if you sync 12s and then fight it out. I'd reccomend MGs and SRMs, almost as far from meta as you can get while still being able to tear through eventually.
Frontloaded while jumping is the most effective you can be, since there are very few disadvantages, no arguing that.
As for wanting to buff other weapons, everything is already more effective than TT, even with doubled armor. Normalize those values, and decrease them since you have pinpoint convergence with all weapon systems. If you want to instagib and have a low TTK, go play Cod.
