I remember that. I was using a Gauss Rifle on a lot of builds (because back then it didn't explode if somebody sneezed in its general direction) and would get those occasional shots that would fire 90 degrees the wrong direction.

I believe that they should make fixing the convergence system a top priority, along with fixing hit registration.

Paul already made it pretty clear during one of the ATD's that a convergence system would break hit registration, and they aren't prioritizing it at all.

So I think this is mostly a lost cause.

I'm really at the point where I'm begining to wonder how much of this game is actually PGI's creation. It seems more like the base game was created by Smith and Tinker.

It's such a stark difference at this point.

my PPC and Gauss were that way, but while i forget the interval, it was always with cause, as if you ran your reticle over something closer, even for a second, you convergence adjusted for that, and then need a split second to re adjust when you scoped back to your original (or if you had something run across your LoS.... dang I used to get pissed at some of our Lights....:(

HAHAHA... you guys suck. I'll take your sorry circle jerk attempts at piloting to the cleaners any day of the week... and it'll be easy(not fun because you're predictable and dull).

That aside... fix the SRMs and the JJ... Highlanders are not the problem, underlying mechanics are: look at different implementations of Jump Jets based on weight class(maybe lights shoot off like a rocket but Assaults take off slow and steady). Change up the role of JJ for the mech before you directly nerf the mech.

(I'll probably employ some of those kids from Lord GGclose soon... that will be hilarious.... after I break them. Oh and Ryan Steele (that's an awesome pornstar name)... I'm acting smug because I'm better then you on so many levels and you know it)).

Do not forget jump jets are meant to be FUN.

Soaring over the battlefield on jets of super heated ion, to take up an advantageous position and blind side your enemy!

Jump jets are already anaemic and nowhere near as effective and as cool as in the literature.

Jets need a BUFF.

If jumping and shooting is the problem then nerf the mechanic of jumping and shooting. Simple!

I would prefer that jets were made more powerful but remove the ability to move and fire at all, rather than water jets down even more.

Jets are an investment in tonnage, they must remain fun and they must still confer some sort of tactical advantage.

If jets are nerfed to the point that no one takes them in assaults then another tactical option bites the dust and the game becomes that much more unexciting.

Some say we have a problem with pop tarting assaults (personally I do not see it myself), but however you proceed do not ruin jets as they are a key part of lore as well as a fun mechanic.

The problem is that JJs are too good as 1 JJ. If what is 1 JJ now instead required 2 or 3, and they scaled more linearly, JJ mechs would have to pay the tonnage/space penalty of mounting multiple JJs to be effective. For a Highlander, that's 4-6 extra tons, and it would make mechs who can mount more than the stock JJs that much more interesting.

@Sam Slade

Please show me how to play... let's 1v1, anytime you wish. You clearly know nothing about this game if you think you can out-pilot myself or Ryan Steel or any of my fellow Lords. I've never seen you playing in-game - ELO too low? I know for a fact that I have maximum ELO, yours must be terrible. The best players in MWO know one-another because we drop against each other constantly and you tend to remember the names of other pilots who perform well in matches. Yours doesn't ring a bell...

Force JJ to act as the "transportation" option it is supposed to be and make all fire from the effects of JJ cause inaccuracy not just the "jump" part of it. If you are in the air you cant aim worth a damn.

Yet the question remains...

Who are you?

Lots of ppl hates us already and lots of fanboys talk about us, against us. Whatever you think about you I can assure you is overrated.

We are hated because we back our words up, saddly I can't say the same about you because... Who are you again, fanboy?

One thing I can tell you: Devs will nerf everything to help those like you and it doesnt matter what it is... we will find you guys new thing to cry about. Clans, JJ's, gauss, AC20's, PPCs, LRM's... even small lasers :v you name it... I know you will ^^

I would be happy to have arm lock, the "newbie helping" feature every veteran sniper uses, removed from the freaking game.

I've said it was a bad idea from the start and it's responsible for 99% of the "convergence" problems. Take the Highlander - without arm lock, you need to actually lead targets to align the ballistics & energy to nail those PPC hits. With arm lock one button easy mode, man!

What? Remove features for newbies that are abused by veterans? Nope.

Knocking the Highlander off its pedestal is not about dethroning the metamongers. The pilots who drop 100 times a week in quad Highlander premades with 5+ W/L will gravitate to whatever is good and continue to do fine. This is about the pilot who loves their Dragon, and giving them an equal opportunity to do glorious battle.

well...I mostly agree, but will say my UAC5, 2 Medium and 4 SSRM SHD.2D2 has claimed a whole lot more Heavies and Assaults as prey than it has Lights. (Of course I'm not silly enough to hare off, leave my team and get ambushed by a wolfpack either, so I usually end up flanking and killing bigger stuff)

lolz. Coming from you...... since the only reason you are anti convergence is it takes away your Poptart crutch.

I was actually a stalker / atlas pilot. I only started playing HGN's when i joined DV8 after they nerfed erppcs heat and i couldnt run my 3erppc gauss build anymore ;-)

Nice try though.

I can vouch for this oddly enough. Don't think I'm good enough to be matched with Villz, but I always remember him in Stalkers.

If that's a little known fact, I'm worried for this game's population.

It was all I saw for months. Stalkers poking their heads up and blasting with 4 PPC's. It hurt.
