So I had one of the little guys over heat directly in front of me maybe 30 meters away. I shot 3 medium lasers in chain and then all 6 yet I barely seemed to scratch him. The only other mech I have noticed this is with the spider. Anyone else notice this or is it just that I was having a bad ping day or something.

Ping disparity causing hit reg issues. Same as with spiders and every other mech - big ping mismatch means server simulation has a harder time assigning damage.

The Firestarter is the new Spider. Same issues that the Spider had with only 5 tons more weight. I lined up a shot on a Firestarter the other day, from behind, and unloaded 2 SRM6s and an AC20. My reticle blinked red but the lil ******* just sat there firing, of all things, his LB 10-X at the enemy.

/sigh x 2

The spider has phase shift armor :o . Yes I have that problem with the Firestarter too, but only when they running around.

Plunked one with an AC20 and 3 MLAS last night as it was shut down... it powered up and ran away with a yellow torso.

Working as intended.

Between poor hit reg, and UI 2.0, this game has become almost unplayable, and very little fun for me.

Stop following me. Though, your location reads as "Right behind me!" so you're always following me. Creepy!!!

Dual AMS make the firestarter op.
Dual AMS make the firestarter op.
Dual AMS make the firestarter op.

Hrm. I didn't go back to Kansas and the Candyman hasn't shown up.

The Stalker 5s with dual AMS wants to know why it's not Op. oh wait. The misery is Pay to Win.
The AS7-K wants to know why he isn't OP. oh because its not the DDC.
Oh hang on. The Locust called. He wants to know why no one ever called him OP.

Yes, consensus is they do in-fact have phase-shift spider armor. Enjoy/curse it while it lasts.

In that case, you group fire and land most of your hits...

Given how easy FS9's are to leg, I get the impression most of the posters here are just annoyed at getting killed by lights. They are definitely not the Spiders of old.

....*sigh*

Its not the game, its your location to the server and your shitternet.

If target has 100 ping and shooter has 100 ping, everything works fine. Its when Shooter has 35ping and the target has 200 that things get really off. HSR gives the person with the highest ping, the benefit of the doubt, meaning it screws the people with under 100 ping the most.

This is why I never had any issues hitting or killing spiders when they were "OP", even with AC20's which would one shot them. People need to understand how a network and ping works, and that there not the greatest shots out there either. You need to work WITH your ping to get better at this game, not against it.

Basically think of it like this.

Your ping is over 150, you need to wait 1/2 a second after swinging your torso around, before firing, for your "ghost" (aka what the server sees) to catch up to you. Yes this means you will not be able to snap fire as well as the rest of the low ping people because you have to wait for the server to catch up to what you are doing.
