Lets just get to it.
How in the hell is the Jenner the universally acknowledged "Best Light" in the game. Screw the jenner. I run the cicada in beast mode. I have included a few builds for your viewing pleasure.
Cicada pilots are taking this ***** over,
so deal deal with it

Can swap the LL for ERLL if you like

WE ALL know this one.
I'll see your smoking corpses on the feild
Don't be stupid and and mention the fact that its technically a medium, because i technically think your a *****.

Works well as a giant light mech, for some at least.
BTW, Nice Rack!

If I wait for a Cicada to RTB on a map like Canyon or even Terra Therma, it might take a while longer.

Jenner have
- same or better weapons
- more free tonnage for weapons OR better top speed
- jumpjets
- better agility ( movement, turning, speeding up und down)
- smaller size
In a 1on1 with equal skill you'll lose.

Btw, the jenner "could" lose its crown to the firestarter.

I need more time to evaluate this, but since it is the mini-Commando, stripping the Firestarter of its arms is lot easier than people think... not that the Firestarter is automatically crippled, but if you have those 4 MGs on the Ember left, it's a worse Spider-5K under that situation. The Spider's tiny arms compared to the Firestarter is kind of a difference maker...
I still use Streaks, and they still kill lights, so I'll just chuckle at that thought.

TBH, i have no idea what the firestarter plays like. I have zero drops outside of assault mechs. I just read quite a few light pilots stating it could have an advantage compared to the jenner because it spreads damage better (the jenner is basically a walking CT on legs).
To me it's just another little thing that doesn't respond well to ac20 shells or double ppcs

Statistically speaking, back in the old 3025 Tech Manual, the Cicada was precisely an upgunned Locust. Statistically identical in all other respects.
Of course I know that's not the case here, but it does put things in perspective a bit.

Us light pilots love that you have PPCs, all the more fun to strip your AC, and watch you wiggle within 90M. Unless were dealing with someone else and dont notice you quick enough lol.

yet funnily enough, I find your Fatlas doesn't respond at all well to my ShadowHawk, which is great at eating assault mechs for breakfast.
Ah, the circle of life!

My Fatlas hasn't seen the battlefield for quite a few months now. Highlanders and Victors all the way since they have been released
I feel rather sure when engaging shadowhawks in them, but hey, maybe i'll find my master in a shadowhawk sooner or later.
Each to his own.
On a side node, my comment wasn't ment as a "OMGZORZ ME PWN ALL THE LIGHTS" kind of posts. Cheers

Well, it's not "technically" a Medium, it is a Medium mech. What it "technically" would be is an oversized Light.
Most other same class mechs will eat your builds 1 on 1.

Not taken that way! As I said, Assaults taste great! But they do occasionally cause indigestion!

Jenner 35 tons = light class
Cicada is good no doubt, especially with raw speed and ECM, but it's a medium.
Jenner is still king of the lights, but the firestarter may have something to say about that
