Had no luck in previous editions or challenges (think as much i saw a single Dev on my team in the past)

This time i was lucky enough to find 2x and 3x Devs in opposing teams in the same day (my play times are around 10 Am pacific time and 3-4 hours after that) and got a single kill due the Dev stepping in the wrong place while dueling a misery with my Griffon..

Aside of this i see some PGI or IGP Devs from time to time on those hours along the year. Also some Dev claimed he oftenly played 2-3 machs before go to work almost daily FYI.

It's not that we had bad luck, it's that the people who got it had amazing luck.

Really this "event" should be going on all the time. It would still be a tiny minority of players to get the prize.

I don't want devs playing. I want them furiously coding UI2.0 and CW foundations, which are decidedly out-of-game elements.

Then again, it wasn't until we saw the devs getting whooped by a Raven-3L premade that we suddenly saw ECM get addressed back in spring, so perhaps them playing is the only way to convince them of stuff. I dunno what to think.

Over 250 drops at all hours during the event with 0 Devs either on side of the match, which you simply chalk up to the event being run during holiday vacation... Considering that i can count on two hands the number of times i've seen a PGI employee in the past 3 months, i may just have extremely bad luck in that regard.

Oh well.

I heard the devs are bored with endless 10 minute skirmishes, and have stopped playing til someone codes Community Warfare, some new games modes, and a decent pre-match lobby for them.

I saw a few, before I knew what was going on. One was on the enemy team, and the team lost, so someone got the kill.

What was/or is the prize you get for killing one? And how do you know if you did?

another thing to blame ELO on. It may be impossible for you to get a developer...

I call BS on the devs playing this game. Over 5k matches and I have seen like 2 devs, neither of them during an event. Oh well, I just chalk it up as another lie that PGI is selling me.

Out of the 800 members of the skye-rangers not a single member seen a dev during the challenge. Something tells me it was a farce and they never showed up. Probably due to the devs are afraid to show their faces lately since their Clan Mech Bundle Miss-Hap.

Or most likely the devs don't want to play because they know it is boring without CW and UI 2.0 ... so ooooo maybe they should get a cracken on that.

I have to laugh at the people who complain about the game, and say they're getting tired of the problems, yet are all sporting Overlord badges. If you hate the game so much, stop spending money on it. If you're spending money on it, do everyone a favour and keep it down. Or yanno.. support the game you're financially supporting.

I never saw a Dev, but I don't contribute it to conspiracy, I contribute it to the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of players, and less than a hundred Devs or Publishers. I have killed them before, but no event at the time.

Also, to say that the people who create this game are not allowed to play this game? ******. They made the game, they're allowed to play it all they damn well want. They are employees, and if they choose to spend their free time playing the game they're making, so be it.

Just keep trying. They'll keep having these events for a while yet.

I almost wonder if such events might be better if the Developers (even forum mods, etc...) would be anonymous players on any team they join the match with. No PGI icon, just some random person unknown to everyone else. Then, issue the badges at the end of the event period, rather than during, so the anonymous nature of the naming remains.

While I never saw a Dev name in a match during the event, as much as the token would have been nice to have, I'm sort of glad. If you're on the team with the Dev, then you know its going to be easy pickings, and everyone just swarm around the Dev and wait for the enemy to come charging in to get their "kill". If you're on the team opposite the Dev, you can kiss that match goodbye, as you're going to lose people on your team who blindly charge after the Dev to get the kill and reward, with no consideration of the team or winning the match.

Plus, if they were announced to be anonymous, it might encourage more teamwork. If no one knows who the Dev(s) are in a match, the incentive is to kill everyone.

People who say things like that are just a beacon broadcasting "Hello! I'm extremely ignorant! Just wanted to let everyone know, kthxbye"

Phoenix became available for purchase when ... 5 months ago...?

And at that time, people were expecting a genuine launch in Q3, and prior to that launch UI2.0, and possibly CW which was at that stage ''only'' a year late.

You don't think that people might be entitled to change their level of optimism, in the 5 months since they bought Overlord, and given the many disappointments since that time...?

They quite probably did.

Or Yanno, stop encouraging the devs to think that what they're delivering in any way meets their customers' expectations, by telling them so in their customer forums?

I see them all the time but, for whatever reason, have no luck during the contest periods. The length of this one would have helped if I weren't traveling for most of it.

There are something like thirty people working on the game, and thousands of us. I have seen a dev once in my nearly two years of play. Each of those devs has a life outside the game, so I wouldn't imagine that they play for more than two hours at a time (I definitely do!), not to mention many of them play the game all day anyway just to figure out the bugs so I bet they're at least a little jaded and not willing to spend an entire day doing something that's pretty close to work.

Just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.
