Enemy Call Sign Issue

This issue started popping up in the lastes patch, and its starting to drive me a little nuts when it comes to Lance and 12 man play. For some reason, periodically the indicated Call Sign Letter for targeted Enemy Mech is changing, thus making it harder to keep a consistant identification of a target.

I've seen this, too. So far, I've seen the target IDs increment all the way up to Q. Also, occasionally I'll see names get swapped around on the summary screen DURING battle. It could be the leader doing it, but it seems unlikely since it is fully during the fire fight. Don't know if that is related.

I saw an R the other day.

I think it might be related to UAV's or (perhaps) turrets. When they light targets up, they use the next available letter. I say it might be turrets because I've only played Crimson Strait Assault once since the patch and had the issue there as well. But it was also happening in Skirmish and Conquest.

I've seen S.... and that was on Tourmaline in skirmish or conquest so no turrets

In one match, it got past z, making all further mechs untargetable.

ive noticed this as well.have been in a 12 man drop called Echo the mech dropped targeted next mech and it was echo to

What gets me is that they will change as combat progresses instead of staying locked. Had a shadowhawk last night change from Juliet, to Kilo, to Lima to Romeo while shooting at it over 30 seconds... :P Wut???

It's not just call signs changing. A friend on the opposing team saw my name affixed on two different mechs in the same game, this evening.

I haven't seen the pilot names changing like Win Ott says, but I have seen the callsigns changing... Which makes lance play on voice amusing... Just tonight, a lancemate: "Targeting Mike... Firing on Mike. Wait, now it's Juliet. Fire on Jul... Make that Romeo, fire on Romeo... Wait, where did Golf go? Oh, there he is. Except now he's Echo. WTF?!"

At first, everyone else (myself included) thought maybe he just wasn't paying attention, or we were misunderstanding what he meant, and he was changing targets... Until I had a guy targeted, and saw the letter change three times. >.>

Seen a Tango, now. And I've also seen the letter changing while holding the target with clear line of sight.

Maybe PGI is nerfing focus-fire? :ph34r: :excl:

I've seen 3 Charlies in one match. Charlie #1 gets killed flip thru targets, look there's another Charlie, rinse & repeat there's a Charlie #3

I've also had targets change while I'm still locked onto them, going from C to O.

This bug Is making calling out targets using the letter designator virtually impossible, when it is changing once every few seconds.

A very serious issue. Makes 12man games even more difficult to play since you cannot find the target which is called out. ;)

I've seen untargetable mechs, mechs with the same name, TWO mechs at once with the same designation...
