So I get that UI2.0 JUST dropped, but when will we see decals? Low priority, I'm sure, but I'd love to slap the Steiner fist on all my mechs. Any word?

I imagine they will get them functional around the same time CW starts to get implemented.

They've said on twitter that it's something they really like and want so I'd be surprised if it wasn't something they feel should be done. Hopefully that might translate to sooner instead of soon

I wanna see it now. As long as they give us the freedom to make our own decals. I would hate it, if we got a Halo-styled decal creation system.

That's all Phase 1 CW actually is, the decal system. Otherwise phase 1 CW sounds like it does jack and shit.

The associations is kind of a big deal. That's also part of phase 1.

Not really.

All it is is 12 players paying a load of cbills to add their merc unit name into the game and give each other ranks. It doesn't do anything. Most Merc units have a name and ranks already. Not to mention their own TS and websites. What they need to make the game not take 3hrs to sync with another team one time is lobbies...

The launch component, specifically private matches, will be 100% more CW than CW phase 1 will be.

A HALO or Guitar Hero styled decal system may be the best option for any "custom" decals. Otherwise, PGI would have to constantly scour the uploads to make sure that people aren't constantly putting up decals of genitals or any other offensive material.

It's a big deal because it's the start of community warfare, a feature we've all been waiting for eagerly.

The launch module is a big deal for many other reasons, and will fortunately be here soon.

I'm certain they'll do it. As for customs, that requires someone on their end checking them to make sure they're not nasty etc images. So I'm sure customs if implemented would have an additional charge.

I expect base images (House/Clan) will be free, and they'll have MC costing ones beyond that, depending on the rarity/cool factor I suppose.

Might even have Decals that affect mech performance (ie "Hero" Decals)

This is one reason a console game style decal system would be easier from their end I imagine, at least for custom decals. With normal images for faction/unit decals.

Granted I would like to just whip out Photoshop instead of spending hours to do the same thing the Forza way but at this point I would be happy with almost anything at all. Painful how long that decal tab sat there and never did anything when it doesn't seem like it should have been that complex to at least have non-custom decals.

The one problem with having custom decals: {Richard Cameron}. {Richard Cameron} everywhere.

I'd like to think that this community is more mature than that, but if experience is any indicator...

I just don't like the idea of making a style that someone else had already made. I have seen tons of amazing artist who have made their own logos and decals for different units. It can be a great asset for merc and unit creation. If there was an option to make creation unique by rotating, sizing and adding other symbols I'd be fine with it, even if I had to pay MC for new shapes. Besides, if someone is drawing inflammatory symbols or legless Stalkers(or Jenners), we can report them just like Tk-ers and griefers.

I would rather be able to have unit insignias(custom) on my mechs than just the house. It's funny how this games been out for two years and still doesn't have any of it's main features.
