I like the idea that you get a warning when a base turret comes under fire, but I hate the fact that the warning is the exact same as for someone inside your base cap. I'm sure the guys inside the base vehicle can tell the difference.
Please consider changing the warning to "base under attack" for turret damage, and "base capture" for a mech within the capture field. I'm not a programmer, but I'm guessing that changing the red flashing words can't be all that hard. Unfortunately, changing Betty's voice is hard, but that is less important. She doesn't say it all that often anyways.

Even changing Bitching Betty wouldn't be that difficult.
If it's a voice actress with adjustment - record the new line, adjust, include.
If it's computer generated - have the computer generate the new line, include.
It should take more than a few lines of code to add it in.
But then, it has taken them 9+ months to produce UI2.0 so far, so maybe it is a lot of work for them?

That might be somewhat of an understatement, Ovion. I agree the computer part of it might be easy, but setting up a recording session with the voice of BB might be somewhat harder. I doubt that it is cost effective to pay an actress to come in and record one line. The should wait until they have a stack of new lines to read and then have a recording session.

Yes, you get flooded with flashing "Base under attack" msgs when the turrets are being shot.
Turrets shouldn't cause this msg since you will see the enemies on the radar which are attacking the turrets (BAP in LRM turrets).

I came here to post what I assumed was a bug about incorrect base cap messages.
Well, it's nice to know that this is a feature and not a bug, but man is it annoying to hear it going off constantly, especially since the sound and visual both obscure missile lock warnings, and until today I assumed it was a bug because BB specifically says "Base is being captured," when it is most definitely not being captured.

I could be wrong, but IIRC, the difference between base-capturing and turrets getting attacked is that you'll only get the voice warning when someone is capping, *not* when they're shooting at turrets.
Plus: You can always just check the cap-meter to make sure what's happening back at base. If it isn't going down, then you're not getting capped.
I do agree that the text message could use changing for a "clearer picture". Just change it to "defensive turrets under attack" or something like that.
