There is another thing much more annoying in the new UI than what it was with previous UI...

I've been playing for months now... with previous UI it was easier the skip initial intro screens than it is with latest UI and I feel it's a step backward.

May I suggest you a very important and drastic change on how to game act when you launch it?
Watch out PGI, you could be shocked. ;)

When we double click the MWO icon, you should immediatly bring the login screen. With login credentials, you look at user stats and decide what to present. If the user have run the game 50 times, I think you can give a break and skip intros completly. YOU know that after 2-3 plays anyway, everyone rapidly press the ESC key to skip the intros so what gives?

Another alternative could be that for the first 25 runs, intros can't be skipped, and for all next runs you'll get to the MechLab immediatly. I believe fans would really appreciate the effort.

See what I mean here? You have so many options to do better to please your fans.

Best idea I have seen on here for a while.

While they are at it bring back the exit game button.

Uhm. Each of the screens is by-passable by either the ESC, Spacebar, or Left mouse button.

I spam all three and get through the opening pretty quickly.

It was much quicker with UI 1.5

And while only spacebar was working to skip in UI 1.5, now it doesn't work. It's either ESC or Enter.

Backspace works just fine for skipping the intros for me.

Yup it's the Crytek intro who seems to take 2-3 sec before we can skip it wich makes it more annoying than 1.5 intros

The intros? Why would you want to skip through those? 50 times for a break?

You don't skip any? You're must be in the rare ones...

But since you asked, I watched those a number of times and know it's CryEngine, Nvidia, IGP/ Piranha Games so no need to watch them over and over.

I had no idea people skipped those. I've also watched them many times over, they're awfully short, and you would only see them what? Once a day, maybe twice? Didn't think anyone would have a problem with that.

I`m fairly certain that both Crytek and Nvidia have clauses in their license agreements that dictate the showing of an appropriate splash screen on game startup, which is why you see for ex. the Nvidia splash screen on, like, 66-75% of all games if not more. ;)

Yes ans I have no problem with that... the problem is even when veteran with 3000 played games, we still have to smash the keyboard to skip those.

I'm sure there are players who never watched those splash because they are used to skip for any program, so one of my solution force a user to watch those at least a few times when new to the game, then you can skip or even not see those at all.

I'm for it, a simple double click to bypass the intro seems wicked handy.

See, I actually caught my little brother, Pesmo, doing this the other day, and he told me the same thing, "Oh, I've seen it so many times." It was for another game, yet wouldn't have lasted more than 10 seconds, and would be less than once a day seeing it. Why people do that, it seems, will forever be beyond my ken.

I agree. i should be able to auto load and login with 1 double click of icon. the entire ui is a massive clickfest, including the launch up.

They get money from nvidia to have that, not sure about crytek - but it's probably a contractual obligation.

Do you remember how before we had to delete a few space bar characters on the password? (or whatever key you're pressing to skip the intros)

Well... true to form ghetto band-aid... use 'esc' so that it doesn't add a character to the password.

Impressed?

True but guess what, now you can use Backspace to skip so it's even better! Impressed?

I'd be happy with the old skip screen speed back. As small a thing as it is, it's irritating to have to wait the extra seconds. (And avoid the loud sound effects)
