This map sucks, you should tocybot it.

What are your feelings for this map? Universally hear people hate it. Long walks to no where, trying to find targets, people tripping over everything.
The map is boring, it is too big, and too difficult to hold.

Let's see your replies, and see if it warrants a petition to get rid of this map.

PGI has already stated that it is working on fixing the bug on the map and will have it done for next patch. So take that knot out of you panties :)

Its more of a tactical challenge, and thats why i love it. Minus the mobility issues i have noticed in my trebuchet.

I like the map. What makes it increasingly unenjoyable is the amount of people who leave the game because of the bugs. What they should be doing is reporting them instead so they see them get fixed. There's no reason to leave the game, and constructive feedback is more valuable than giving no reason at all. This forum greatly lacks constructive feedback... Everyone has huge expectations, and one of them is that PGI become psychic and do things at inhuman speeds.

However, on terms of the map itself, I really like it. If it was maybe 10% smaller, it would feel alright. But it feels OK like this. The main battle happens all over the place, and I've had some real interesting battle in the middle.

It requires different fighting techiniques, and sometimes weapons. It's a nice mix in the current rotation of older maps. I am looking forward to the moonscape and island maps to though. I'm having higher expectations for better looking maps. Bugs and kinks like that get ironed out over time since, as expected, "no one makes the first jump".

It's sad to see OP quickly label the map to suck. The amount of talent and hardwork put into it deserves some credit. It has brilliant visuals first of all, and it forces players to think differently. I know that the latter is what people are unhappy about. I'm not even mentioning bugs because it's very black and white what you should do about them. Find them, report them, and continue on. I agree, the part about getting stuck sucks, but the map is great. Bugs that suck need to be reported otherwise it will only continue to suck. If you don't, you're only becoming part of the problem.

So please report bugs.

I like it- but for one thing, it feels as though the movement on the map can be really, really, randomly penalizing you. Cruising along at full throttle, some minor bump without even a pointy edge or anything, OOP! well, gotta turn and go around I guess.

Also, there are some points where you can really easily get stuck "down the ravine" so to speak, as in, you slip off the side of a pathway, and the whole 45 degree movement thing now prevents you from moving back up the 5 foot hill. Only way to get back then is to hike like 1200M around some lava river to a bridge.

This was most noticable playing my Atlas mechs, but my one excursion in my Catapult so far had a similar situation.

i am all about terrain advantages, tactical advantage etc is a good thing. But I wonder how this map will turn out if/when they ever put collisions back in. If you get knocked down anywhere on some of the paths on the map, you could actually just fall down and get completely seperated from your team. The fun of kicking people into lava aside, you could totally TROLL people with like an Awesome 9M or PB by turning torso 90 degrees and just snowplowing their team down into gully hell.

it takes a bit of getting used to the map, but I like it so far. At least 1000% more then Canyon. Terra Therma just needs some revision, a solid pass on smoothing out some of the pointy terrain on the more commonly traveled areas would go a long way.

Terra Therma is becoming my favorite map (I'm as shocked as you!). Once you sacrifice some dps to drop in a bigger engine or start fielding lighter and faster mechs, this map starts to shine. If you're moving at +85kph, you can RTB to head off the cap, no problem, usually with enough time to get back into the fight.

When you get down to it, it's a bunch of bottlenecks with flanking routes readily available. Is the vanguard stalled in the doorway to Mount Doom? Take a lance around the side and hit them in the rear. Just don't be surprised when you run into their flanking lance along the way! So you sometimes get these sub-skirmishes that extend out from the "main scrum" as both teams stretch the line in an attempt to flank. Provided there are units fast enough to maneuver, that is. Otherwise everyone is stuck shooting each other in the back and complaining they can't RTB fast enough.

Nine times out of ten, when someone says they hate Terra Therma, I can tell they're fielding a slow, non-jumping, and heat-vulnerable mech. Take that for whatever you want. The fact is that with 12v12, larger maps are probably going to be more common, and I am excited about the prospect of maps like Tera Therma's ability to change the stale slow-assault-as-the-norm meta without resorting to harsh nerfs.

One could, you know, offer suggestions for additions to a map, instead of simply saying, "Nah, get rid of it."

The only "problem" with this map (aside from bugs, which are a completely different matter) is that it's complicated. Those of us too lazy to head into Testing Grounds and explore it a bit end up blundering around like total noobs,

However, the complicated structure encourages more complicated tactics. Even with a bunch of lazy slobs stumbling around aimlessly like drunken frat boys, I still see more flanking/pincer maneuvers, multi-prong pushes, strategic withdrawals, etc. Additionally, it's not only possible but often advisable to leave people behind at base for cap defense.

So even though it's my worst map (and by a lot), I love Terra Therma. IMO, it's the most beautiful, unique, and interesting of all the maps.

I like it except for the "Gandalf pebbles" I keep finding all over the place. Hopefully there will be less of them as the game gets patched.
...And, a quirk of the game on any map; How the tallest mechs can't step over ankle-high rocks, and you can't see the rock that's blocking you because it's below your field of view.

I think it looks like Char, and I keep wondering if the zerg will show up one day. I want to see an ultralisk take an AC/20 shell to the face!
But if we see zerglings, I hope you don't depend on ammo too much!

This map is horrid. The number of people that complain when they drop into this map, or just outright leave far surpasses any other map.
The buggy terrain, slow spots going down hill, invisible terrain blocking shots, the size of the map can have you not firing a shot for 5-7 or more mins easy, stuck on spawn location, stuck on bridges or can't pass them....the list goes on. Reports have been made but still no updates.

The map does have potential I just think spawns need to be moved in a bit and bugs fixed.

I think the map is BEAUTIFUL! Amazing work building it. I have a feeling that if the movement bugs were all fixed and it was 15-20% smaller, it would be much more well received.
