Yeah, that sort of thing can happen, especially to the lights, as they're in the crossfire between your other forces & the enemy.

This stuff can happen when one crosses another guys lane of fire, although most people that have a brain should know not to do that.

well i can only think of 2 scenarios
1. there was a teammate that was in the red and only had to be spit on to get killed and a stray shot tagged him
2. i was in some pretty heavy sh%t and halfway in i was in "frenzy" mode and may have shot the first thing that dropped in front of me.

i was pretty much jumpin' an jukin' all over the place so either or may have happened lol

It is also the result of the last minute frenzy to score the kill. I had a TK the other night, first time in ages. A Spider was camped up high on a cliff in Forest Colony over a big fight. Blue skirmished with a few red down in a kill box while said Spider kept popping in and taking shots on us. When he neglected to go for cover after a shot, I took out his leg with my Ilya at range (3xAC5/ERPPC), then charged up for the second shot. Hit the torso, stripped armor, took off an arm. Charged for third shot. A friendly Jenny was watching all this, never took a shot. When the kill shot presented itself, he jetted up right in my line of fire to vulch the kill. I let it go anyway, blew out said friendly side torso. I don't think I meant to do it, but...I wasn't sorry when it happened. As previously noted, people should know not to do that and I have to assume they know they are about to take on some FF.

Some people also don't realize that when someone is fighting long range, they are probably at +zoom and have a bit of tunnel vision going. Not a good time to cross the fire because situational awareness is pretty low.

It happens, its crappy when it does, and most log out before you can say sorry.

HPG was my lastest in my dragon slayer, let rip with XB10 and srm's got a double, kill sadly one was a Jenner well I think it was a jenner, on my team I was facing down a thud and a stalker and my armour was shreaded, so was off loading as much I could before the fall, when I saw this blur between the stalker, as it fell, then the rest of the team arrived and finnished off the thud. so the hell yes turned into a %^&* no in the space of three seconds.

I did say crap sorry when the match ended, but I didn't lose sleep over it

People should learn not to block friendly fire either, its so annoying, when im playing my Muro with duel gauss rifles and im firing away at a enemy close range mechs just run into my line of fire, and honestly i don't bother apologising anymore because people must be more aware of thier surroundings and where the fire is coming from.

for example i was im my Catapault C1 and popping off LRM's at a hunch , he was running away so my missiles were hitting him in the back, then a friendly jenner decides to run right up against the back of the hunch, and took all my missiles and died, i actually fell over laughing at him.

I think I've done this about a half dozen times.
Most of the time its an errant AC20 shot mid brawl, a side effect of the speed decrease. If you get a bad read sometimes it will hit a friendly guy in his CT if the enemy you're shooting at does a matrix-style slow-mo torso twist.
A few times its a griefer trying to TK me at the start of the match but picks the wrong target. haw
I remember twice I was trying to save someone and they were running directly away from a larger enemy the same speed without doing any bobbing and weaving, I shoot at the bigger guy after spending 15 minutes lining up a bead on him but the hardpoint location makes you scratch their cherry red CT and they explode. Still works out well, because the assault is usually shocked and the one laser you used to try to get his attention off your friendly is the only thing on cooldown so you're free to alpha his face off.
I use PPCs on a lot of my sniper mechs (in mediums generally thats your best bet for a sniper weapon unfortunately) so if someone jumps in front of me in close range it bounces off harmlessly. I kind of like the min range on PPCs for that reason (people are morons)

Thats fairly off topic, though I dunno mang. For one Hawken's missing too much of the nice bits of a mecha game to really compare for me, for two I haven't seen PGI even flinch a twit towards steam or anything so I feel a lot of doubt there'll be any steam integration any time soon.

I have had a couple. The first was before the PPC nerf in Frozen City. I was in my K2 (2PPC, 2MPLaser). The game had been going well, and although we had started lower we had pushed up through the city, sweeping around the base of the Dropship and trapping them in the upper sections. At this point the fighting is getting really heavy as they are giving all they can to try and break out. So I am in front of a narrow alley, delivering a constant and steady barrage of 10DPS hell to a couple of hostiles at the other end, whilst some others on my team are eating their flank. A Cicida on my team, with its rear CT stripped, and nearly cored decides to run down the narrow (literally one Mech wide) alley for some reason. Despite the fact that he can see I am throwing really heavy firepower down it. Long story short, I did not apologise. The next incident is on Crimson Straights, and im in the same Mech. So we have started at the bay, and done an early saddle rush only to discover a couple of hostiles have had the same idea. A couple of us move down to brawl, whilst I stay back and snipe. It is by pure chance that a friendly Hunchie happens to run into the path of my PPC bolt, killing him instantly. This time, I did apologise as it was pure chance.

only reason why I said something about steam is because I saw the guy had a SS on steam.

Well I killed two teammates, they were even in my own lance two weeks ago. These guys both were Marik players who suddenly started to shoot me in the back and not just accidently it really escalated into a fight. The result: Two teamkills, a jenner and a raven. Sry guys but if there's someone who doesn't give a damn about teammates just receive some bullets back!

I've gotten SRM kills- and had the missiles keep going that whiffed, hit another 'Mech, and cause an ammo explosion that gutted it.

TK's are usually just bad timing.
