I found a solution to the problem, but it might sound weird.

Go to your Internet Explorer (yes, IE) and go to settings and from the homepage press ''Use default'' or something. It has solved my problems with League of Legends always and it solved this as well. However, I have no idea why it helps.

OMG? WTF? This worked. -_-

I opened IE and it said the page cannot be loaded in offline mode. Would I like to connect? I clicked connect. After the page loaded I made sure to set the "Use Default" thing just to follow the instructions (even thought it didn't make a change for me since my IE home page was already set to the default).

I think my issue was the weird offline mode. Not sure why IE was in an offline mode. I read this forum topic using Chrome so I know my internet was working in general.

It doesn't change the homepage for me either, but it works. IE is somehow connected to the internet of the windows, so it might have a bug or something that sometimes causes connection problems. Other option is that when you press that default homepage it resets the internet connections.

I've been plagued by this issue on and off since UI2.0 dropped, and this is the first time I have seen anything work directly and immediately. THANKS SAMZIEL!

The "IE" fix seems to have worked for me as well.

I wonder if it's something to do with dotNET?

I'm haveing the same problem, Unknown Failure after the entering mechlab splash screen that sends me back to the login screen. I have however noticed an interesting corilation. If the launcher loads the RSS feed I can login just fine with no problems, but if I get an RSS error [Error loading RSS feed! The remote server returned an error: (506) Failure To Connect To Web Server] then I get the "Unknown Failure" every time.

Furthermore I have noticed on three occations (only three) when I tried to return to the Mechlab from a map and got the same "Unknown Failure" which sends you back to the login screen that when I exit the game and restart the launcher I get the same RSS feed error message again.

I have yet to be able to fully login to the game if the RSS feed does not load, nor have I encountered the error when the RSS feed does load.

Weather this is the cause or just another symptom of the problem I cannot say. It would be interesting to note if other people who have had the same "Unknown Failure" are also getting the RSS Error at the same time.

OK, I managed to get into my account. Used a friend's connection to get in, and then sold off a heap of mechs on the operating theory that there was some sort of timeout going on while loading 70+ mechs. Got down to 43 mechs and now seem to have no problem logging into my account on my connection.
