First the things i did like:
- Full screen...yey! Its been a long time coming and it feels great now that it is here.
- The actual mechs look gorgeous. I spent minutes checking out each and every mech i own, spinning it around and admiring it in all its glory.
- Setting weapon groups outside of a match...thank god for this.
- Renaming mechs...kind of nice.
- Trial mechs show in my owned mech list...thats like wanting to put pictures of your kids on the fridge only to realize theres some random kids in the picture as well. Just no...i understand you want new players to see the trial mechs right away and not have to search for them, but at least give us "veterans" a way to remove them from the list (and they should stay removed until the time we decide we want to see them again, not every time we want to admire our mech collection).
- Tinny mechlab fit window, huge equipment icons and insane mouse travel time every time i want to swap the fit window to a different part of a mech. I dont quite understand why huge icons of engines and weapons need to take up so much realestate. What the previous UI had was just fine...i had no trouble finding stuff and it left plenty of room for parts of the UI that are actually important, like the fit windows and picking which part of the mech i want to fit or better yet show fit windows for every part at once like a website like smurfy does (and not just do a smurfy style overview like what i hear is planed...im pretty sure we all want that kind of overview to actually let us drag equipment on and off our mechs). And as for the mouse travel time...every time i want to switch from lets say a left arm to a right arm to fit equipment on it i have to move my mouse all the way from the left arm fit window across the huge equipment window with huge icons and then to the tiny list of mech body parts...i just dont get it, why is everything thats important so small and unintuitive while everything that really isnt important at all is huge and in our faces?
- When you are done fitting a mech (and being frustrated with how unefficient and painful the whole process was) you are met with the search for the "save loadout" button that is nowhere to be found...it literary took me 5minutes of trying to figure out how to actually save the new fit before i realized it was the tiny amazon store style "checkout from the shopping cart" button in the corner. Really? I mean...REALLY? I have no words...
Cheers for listening/reading trough my thoughts (hopefuly a dev did as well), and i apologize for coming off as negative, its just unfortunately how i feel right now.
See you soon™!
