I also noticed that PPCs won't fit into the torso and stay there. One is next to the cockpit and the other will shift to the right or left. It looks weird and it is annoying as heck.

Different manufacturers and models of autocannons have different calibers (25mm-203mm) and rates of fire. Due to this, autocannons are grouped into generic "classes" of autocannons with common damage ratings, with Autocannon/2s having an extremely long range at the cost of having a very small damage output.
that can explain the sizes. an ac 5 may be anywhere from 88 to 105mm ac2 any were from like 25 to 50

There used to be a kind of 'convention' of calibres by the writers , it was roughly dmg = calibre+
So AC2 was 20mm - 40mm
AC 5 was 50mm - 75mm
AC10 was 90mm - 120mm
AC20 was 150mm - 203mm
It was never specified in any rule book, but if you read enough of the source books where they do specify calibres for weapons it's around this ratio.
But it's really only a flavour thing.

How do you explain that? There is different "Caliber" for an energy weapon too? It's just because the game designers don't have take this under consideratrion when they draw the 'mech......
If i will put the awesome's PPC shape on the Jenner, i will be completely desequilibrate =)

Seriously it's a super bonus that a make both looks good and runs good. It doesn't happen all that often.
