FIREBRAND
This seems like a good build to me, haven't even got to play my new purchase yet, but how does this build look?

Looks like a solid mid/close ranged ballbuster to me!

You might also want to try 2xPPC+2xAC5 or 2xERLL+2xAC5, with a smaller engine. Those are very strong Jager builds, even better on the Firebrand with its arm energy hardpoints.

Looks very hot. I actually have a standard engine troll brawling build which has been surprisingly successful using lots of small pulse lasers and 2 MGs. No one expects a standard engine and if your prey is already opened...heh.

Good luck with jams on the Ultra, I have horrible luck with them jamming.
I'd suggest just using 2 standard AC5's you'll save 2 tons that way and not worry about jamming.
I'm not saying this is better, but I use this build (on my standard Jagermech) that works pretty well, so I switched it up a bit for your firebrand.
Rifleman (Jagermech)
its based off the Rifleman which is what the Jagermech replaced.
*about the AMS/AMMO that would be something I recommend just because I hate having tons of LRMS fly at me and like to atleast have some form of protection, so if you want 1 ton, 2 tons of ammo, or no AMS at all that's up to you.
I guess I should also note that you're dropping from a 300 XL to a 240 XL, while the speed and 2 heatsink slots are nice from the 300 XL, its unnecessary, since the build is mainly for harassing targets from longer ranges and staying out of the fight directly.

IMO, if you're not putting PPCs in those lovely Jäger arm energy mounts, you're probably missing the point of the FB. If you're only putting MLs in there, you're definitely missing the point.

ERLLs have their place too most likely, but yeah, anything smaller than those is probably a shame.
