I'm getting an md5 hash mismatch when I try to patch the client. Here's a rundown:
Played fine for a few days since the last patch.
Today, I wasn't able to launch a mission. I would get an error, something to do with a read error on a byte 128 out of 0.
I uninstalled the client and reinstalled. This is when I began to get the md5 hash not matching.
I downloaded a new copy of the installer. No change.
Uninstalled again, made sure there were no artifacts left on a folder and ran a registry cleaner before reinstalling with a third installer download. No change.

I think I got this when doing a patch. It was a large patch. I tried a few times but got this MD5 problem every time.
In the end I did a complete reinstall.
The situation is that somehow the game .pak files are broken and they get corrupt resulting in "FRead 0 of 128 byte" errors, "MD5/Hash" errors and also recently for me "Version mismatch" errors. It's a real problem for people that are affected by this (not everyone is, clearly).
I get errors like this on every patch. I get errors like this between patches. I sometimes can fix it using the repair tool, but sometimes even that fails because the very act of re-downloading fresh pak files results in them getting corrupted again (often, in different ways!). Often, I have to download new .pak files manually.
I went through a stage of testing my system, such as looking for RAM errors, but given the number of people effected by this it's not me, it's PGIs game files.
After the reinstall, are you able to run the repair tool? I've got a vague memory of that being a possibility. Or does the installer not get far enough?
Try searching the forums for "MD5 error" to see what other people have done.

I managed to get some help from the folks I play with and they got me through it. The repair tool was necessary, but even using that, the server sent me a few corrupted files and I had to run it a second time.
Nice that I get more help from regular players than the folks who are PAID to do tech support for this crap. Hell, I never even got a response from them, but I'm sure I'd be told it's all on my end anyway.
PGI should schedule a proctology appointment for cranial extraction.
