Not exactly a fair comparison between AMD and Intel. Lemme rewrite it for ya:

Why the hell would I spend $30,000 to soup up a honda civic when I can buy Mustang Cobra and still have full factory warranty [and have tons of room for performance modification far above and beyond what the Civic is capable of.

Not to mention, I get to keep my interior, and probably STILL get better gas mileage.

PS: You can keep the Galaxy. I can't afford the gas on a car that measures it in GPM rather than MPG

Smart to get a little cooling to your VRM, but for under $100.00 and some spare parts laying around, you could have something like this that will cool your CPU, VRM (they might make VRM water blocks for your Mobo or not, I'm not sure), and a video card.
It's called the "Junkyard Waterbox", Cost me under $100.00, built it a while back. LOL, it's funny looking, but I literally cannot overheat my CPU, I could overvolt the CPU to death, but not due to over heat.. LOL


It's an old Dell case gutted except for the PSU, (2)-12"x10" copper tube/aluminum fin Rads out of a junk de-humidfier, and a couple 120 and 140mm fans, 3/8 vinyl tubing from the hardware store at .29 cents a foot.
While my friends were competeing with their systems, spending mad cash on some really nice looking water cooling, I told them I was going to build a waterbox for under $100.00. They had a good chuckle, and I got more then I needed for cooling.
Also, I used 20% automotive antifreeze and 80% water mix, and as you can see I used a 20oz pop bottle for a reservoir.

It's ugly as sin. But it's enough to cool anything I want.

I'm speechless, now you just have to hook it up to nb/sb, video card and ram for under $200 total

The VRM, Bridge, and RAM blocks with fittings cost too much to get under $200.00 total..

My VRM doesn't get anywhere near the dangerzone, my RAM is fine, nothing on the board gets hot, and that video card in the picture is a non reference card, meaning they didn't make a waterblock for it, I would literally have to solder off a couple of parts and swap them to the other side of the PCB and mount a universal waterblock, and I decided to wait until I got a GTX-780 evga card and water block that, but i'm saving up some serious cash for a complete (BIG) Intel build, I also have bought a dual 140mm RAD, and a 200mm Rad so I can just move the waterbox back to the LAN room with my other systems and mount the new rads in the HAF-X case.

I doubt I will ever waterblock the GPU you see in that pic, I will probably get something reference that's better then that card and use that junkyard system for one of the gaming rigs in the LAN room with the newer card (not 780) for friends to game on when they come over for an RTS LAN war and pounding brews while the girlfriends and wives drink their fruity litle stuff and make fun of us. LOL, good times.

My dell dimension 3100 back when P4 HT 3.0ghz was badass, was gutted to the max and force induced A/C from my floor unit unknown make/model, 10K BTU? IIRC* it was huge loud and blew up, but cooled the hell outta that dimensions stock enormous heat sync after proper implementation of venturi's for mad cold air flow........cooled my room well even after it passed through that Chernobyl of a processor!
