I'm not sure if this is the right forum but it was the best i could think of.
In every mech whose tonnage ends in a 5 (ie. Stalker or Jager) endo-steel gives the same tonnage saving as the X0 ton mech. A Stalker with endo-steel and fully stripped of armor and equipment weighs 4.5 tons when it should weigh 4.25 tons, same with the Jager weighing 3.5 instead of 3.25 tons. I know it isn't much but it's 8 extra points of armor and it's always bothered me that it issn't consistently 50% savings on base chassis weight.

Its rounded down to the nearest half ton. Its always been this way.
I think the rule is always 5% mech total tonnage, rounded down to nearest half ton soo...
25t Mando - 1t
30t Spider - 1.5t
35t Jenny - 1.5t
40t cicada - 2t
45t BJack - 2t
50t Hunchy - 2.5t
55t Shawk - 2.5t
60t Dragon - 3t
etc..
Let me look up sarna rules on it...
While I cannot find a direct quote, I did find a reference on Endo-Composite Internal Structure, which behaves the same exact way and also rounds to the nearest half ton.

AFAIK, true for MWO, not for table top.
When endo steel and XL engines were first introduced for TT in TRO 2750 there was no rounding, but it was permissible to have your mech be 0.25 tons under weight. The original stats for the MadCat/Timber Wolf had to be tweaked when the rules change on rounding for endo and XL engines robbed it of a smidge of pod space. Not sure exactly when the the change took place, but it was somewhere between TRO 3050's first publication (1990) and I think no later than that of Battletech Compendium: The Rules of Warfare (1994).

There are no .25 or .75 weights in the base TT rules.
There is an optional rule enabling those weights in TT, for such things as Endo Steel and XL engines.
This game does not use the optional rule.
The weight of Endo Steel is rounded up to the nearest half ton.

It has been this way since MW:O started. They will not change it now.
