Also, a small hiccup in service when something changes is not downtime. Getting DC'd once because something changes is not downtime. Previously it was 1-3 hours downtime each time they had to change something. I know it's rough having, like, a small hiccup of 25 seconds out of your day so that PGI can add bonuses for the weekend, but.. you know, some people out there don't have food, so there ya go. Get over it.

I mean even 24/7 gas stations do have a short break for billing every 24h. Do you sue them?
There are some limits everyone with common sense can realize.
I've been a programmer for almost 20 years. One of my larger projects was a server application that handled all monetary transactions for a national bank. If THAT server EVER went down - then YES we would get sued. No doubt about it - it was in our contract. Not sure what your point is here since comparing a server application to a gas station makes absolutely no sense.

Axeman: Production server downtimes are pretty normal, consider security patches which usually require a reboot. What it sounds like you're referring to is unexpected crashes by unknown cause, yea that's sloppy on production, but that's what multiple environments are for.
Ryoken: Normally production servers are patched during non-peak hours, typically early in the morning. But MWO services worldwide clients so their non-peak hours might be at strange times. Regardlless, they would probably need to pay someone overtime for that role as I doubt they have a graveyard shift programmer. How they're doing now is alright considering their situation.
