Buff Mediums Now!

They are not fast enough to run away from a fight and come out intact and not strong enough to pack a punch.
Medium mechs really need a buff. Especially the Centurions
I propose MOAR speed and MOAR armour and MOAR everything

Anyhow, *YAWNS*, maybe APRIL and tonnage restrictions might lift the tarpaulin off them? Who knows?

SRM's aren't broken - they just aren't OP anymore. Neither are lasers bad. Mistaking weapon being balanced for being bad is 2 entirely seperate things. looking at raw stats, here is the top 10 weapons in order of DPS/Ton
SMALL LASER
MACHINE GUN
SRM 2
MEDIUM LASER
SML PULSE LASER
SRM 4
SRM 6
STREAK SRM 2
LRM 5
Here is the top 10 Alpha/Ton
SMALL LASER
MEDIUM LASER
SRM 2
SRM 4
SRM 6
SML PULSE LASER
STREAK SRM 2
MED PULSE LASER
SRM 6 + ARTEMIS
LRM 5
AC/20's, UAC5's, PPC etc. all rank extremely low in terms of efficiency-per-ton but are dominant currently due to their utility and play style.
It's worthwhile noting that buffing and nerfing weapons arbitrarily should only be done as a last resort when something is massively wrong (like SRM's splashing) and instead the play style causing weapons to be effective should be addressed instead.

Now then, Mediums still handicapped yes? Decrease torso twist/turnspeed on Heavies and Assaults yes?

its called a heavy mech
mediums are garbage right now because of their whacked scaling and pinpoint aiming. its very easy to hit a medium mech in its side torso and wipeout its XL. And mediums have to take XLs to compete because they cant bring enough firepower otherwise.
removing the 40 point Pin Point alphas would go a long way to fixing mediums.

I don't see anything wrong with the mediums. Its a particular style of play to use them effectively. Is it just me of this reminds me of WoT when medium tank drivers would complain about how their medium isn't good enough when they're playing it like a heavy.

well yeah I meant 40 points of damage to one location. like dual ppc/ac20 or dual ac/20, etc...
if the damage spreads out its a non-issue. like four large lasers is a non-issue, why PGI felt the need to limit them with ghost heat is beyond me.

Since SRMs were nerfed. SRMs were low weight weapons that allowed mediums to run standard engines and still pack a punch (Centurion with three SRM6s used to be beast). Now that SRMs are absolutely terrible in order to do well you have to take multiple ballistics or PPCs which requires running XL in order to go fast enough. Because if youre not going at least 90kph theres no point to playing a medium IMO... since heavies can get upto 80-85kph easily enough.
