Ok I must have subconsciously have skipped NT Hackmans note... MWO takes the price for the BEST community, doing a great effort to enhance the experience... Is it Vodka Day again already ?

Mr. Hackman should try to venture a visit to World of Tanks or Warthunder community... Theres a altogether different experience and behaviour

I've played since Closed Beta and been amused by trying new Mechs and tactics. It can get repetitive and it takes a decent amount of learning, but I enjoy this game very much. It is in my top 5 most enjoyed games (Minecraft and MWO are tied for first)

I know I fit that stereotype. MW:O, Minecraft and Starbound are my top three games right now, and I have a shelf full of LEGO Star Wars stuff sitting over my computer.

I have been playing MWO since the beginning, and Mechwarrior games since the 90s.
When MWO started, everyone was comparing it to Hawken (or to a lesser degree to the a bit older World of Tanks).
Nowadays you see more comparisons to Star Citizen which is not even in beta ^^

This weekend, EA had a beta for Titan Fall which is way better than Hawken, because you can eject and be infantry and attack other "mechs" :)
And it feels way less repetitive than Hawken.
If I had to classify Hawken, Titan Fall and MWO, I'd say Hawken is closer to Unreal Tournament, while Titan Fall is closer to CoD or BF and MWO is a Mechwarrior game

Lego, science kits and PC games (and school but that is a bit of a duh).

For anyone still "considering" whether to get into the game or not... I thought this was a fun watch.

get into it now. When the big features hit you'll be way behind otherwise :)

It's a long learning curve.

Hey OP! A better question may be "Why Wouldn't You?"

Seriously, MWO is free - you get a TON of value for your $0.00! - and the best 'mech game available. It's constantly improving and the community is 90% fantastic.

My newb thread is the one IraqiWalker linked to on page 2 and everything i said in it - imo - is great encouragement for giving MWO an honest go and developing some relationships.

If you have more important things to do than play video games, by all means, don't bother with MWO (or any other game) and move on. But, if you are going to be spending time with vid games and you're interested in mech sims... you'd be doing yourself a disservice to bypass MWO.

Worse comes to worse if you don't like it, walk and then give it another peek when in June. Should be a very different game by then.

Try playing Grand Theft Auto 4 on Xbox Live. That is community hell.

Everyone autoaimed, non-stop spewed racial slurs and at least once per round - every round - someone would rap (generally an obnoxiously high pitch kid) and someone would inform everyone how "hard they were" because they were "West/East side."

I'm not exaggerating either. Every freaking match. If there was someone sane out there we'd try to work together but damn was that finding a needle in a haystack.

That word alone should have told you all you really wanted to know about that game's community. ;)

So true! But yeah, enough examples of how much better MWO's community is to many others. ;)

Time to raise the bar!
