So I've seen Airstrike and Artillery strike work much better now, so I invested 30,000 gxp into getting upgrades for both, I still have some gxp leftover to unlock an accuracy upgrade for one of the two, but I have heard both accuracy buffs actually make the strikes hit even less. So a question for the players that have used airstrike or artillery strike for a while now, what do you think? Is the accuracy worth it or does it in fact makes things worse off? I have heard two sides to the argument, the first side is that the less accurate versions can hit targets in a much greater range, while I have heard on the other side that the less ranged but more precise strikes get better results. I'm sort of leaning towards the former, that the more ranged strikes do much better.

They tighten the spread.

Aka, they remove the thing you brought the strikes for. So no, don't upgrade accuracy.

The splash damage of artillery is pretty low. You want to hit with shells, and it is quite possible to miss a stationary target with all ten shells if you don’t upgrade accuracy.

Yes, you should upgrade artillery accuracy, and use artillery strikes only on very tight groups or on top of capture points, where you are likely to cripple or destroy an inattentive light mech.

I don’t use air strikes, so can’t say anything about their upgrades.

I've had fun dropping both from my spottin' spider (one laser, one tag, both strike types and 12 jets). Best was getting two kills on an HGN and a Hunchback at the same time (they were already damaged) I do wish they'd let you carry MORE, or get a dedicated artillery weapon in that game that worked with tag (not LRMs).

I'd say they can be useful, but the lack of any decent amount of fires means you also have to be lucky.

Personally I'd like to see a more realistic Airstrike package.
For instance engage a Atlas at 3km... I get target lock with missles and open fire.
while I still have traget lock my airstrike becomes available.
I should now be able to land the airstrike directly on the Atlas regardless of it's location is I can still maintain the lock.

Tell me why that doesn't make sense...

Blame planes pilots , they always forget to press R to lock
