If you are in a match and hit Escape to bring up the settings/quit match/exit game menu and then select 'Quit Match' it brings up an Ok/Cancel dialog. While that dialog is active, hitting Escape again will leave the dialog up but close the settings/quit match/exit game dialog and return you to the game. You can control your mech, shoot, and everything else with the Ok/Cancel dialog still floating in the middle of the screen. However, you cannot press any of the buttons on the Ok/Cancel dialog in this state. If you press Escape again to re-open the settings screen, THEN you can press buttons on the Ok/Cancel dialog, which will still be open.
