SOme of the House Books, Mercs Supplimentals, Field manual Update. By 3058 Avanti's Angels had 60 tons of Clan equipment on their Mechs.

As of 3058 The Black Thorns

This info can be confirmked in the appropiate Sourcebook.

IIC mechs will be the closest thing to "IS Clan Mechs". Whenever they get added, likely after clans.

PGI have stated that IS and Clan mechs will not be able to use each others techs. They were worried that people might have fun.

There is a line between fun and to much fun... It is also very important to note on who said fun is inflicted.

As much as i like to run a Jenner loaded up with streak 6´s to it´s cute little hunchback... I take game balance before egotistical fun any day.

It would also invalidate most omni-mechs =P Again not that I personally care about that but it seems that a fair amount of people are invested in the idea and who am i to spoil their fun.

Yeah, PGI is already on record saying they won't allow it.

I want ssrms 6's.

Oh my gosh, I forgot about those. Between that and the larger U/ACs, I don't envy the devs the balancing work they have in front of them.

Fun fact: several of the upcoming Omnimechs will have at least 4 missile hardpoints (such as the Ryoken). Assuming that Clan SSRMs will be similar to current SSRM2's, a single volley from a Ryoken carrying 4 SSRM6 will cripple a Locust (the Locust can carry a maximum of 138 Armor and the volley from the Ryoken will deal 60 damage).

I believe I saw somewhere that the Devs said that the larger SSRM packs are going to be spitting them out 2 at a time as opposed to a large volley. So, 4 SSRM6s will be more like 3 groups of 8 SSRMs each. Bet that'll do a Spider nicely. Can't wait.

Yeah yeah yeah. It was still a good concept for a Mechwarrior/Battletech crossover campaign someone did in their basement.

My timeline may be a little bit skewed, but the last book I read about them had them stuck on a Kurita planet in the middle of Clan space dealing with the "Company Store" syndrome....and they'd lost several of their best warriors. I think. Man, I gotta read that book again.

Losses were much more painful to a small unit like the Thorns, and the Company Store was brought to bare even against teh Dragoons. Kuritans didn't lie mercs at all!

I still visualise that mech taking a full Masakari (as it was back then) salvo to the head.
