So after quite some time off the game I decided to check back in, at least 1 new map I havent played, mechlab and whatnot.
I enter the new mechlab and dear lord, I dont want to configure even a single mech with that system. Seriously, I have to configure ONE part at a time (arm, leg, torso, etc), that's just clumsy and VERY HARD to get an overall feeling of what's going on in my mech.
Why not just have a single view of everything, like the "home" screen of the new lab where your mech stand in middle of the screen and there I could see left torso, right torso, head, arms, all and at the side of screen my equipment then drag and drop to the slots.
Why not? I'd actually see everything that is in my mech and it would be easy to configure stuff, now I have to go back and forth over every part a million time trying to remember what's where.
Just make it as an option if someone really wants to use the current system. The home screen is currently EMPTY besides the mech sitting in the middle of the screen, take the opportunity and add an overall view there where I can configure stuff, please.

The New Mechlab Is A Mess.

I believe they are planning on changing it to something similar to Smurfy.net's system, which would be great!

Every two weeks they'll be adding updates to UI2.0.
They released it early for us to have it right away, but their mistake was thinking that UI2.0's current iteration was better than UI1.5. It's IS a big step forward, the problem is that the advancement we don't even see.
Things will improve as we give feedback and when PGI listens.

Good news, I hope they get some streamlining to the UI2 asap. Looking forward to get stomping around again but this thing needs some love first. I like it very much being fullscreen and the mechs look great in the lab, the overall feeling is it's less beta now but it's just clumsy as heck.
