70 ton mech with 3 hardpoints? lol.

I suppose you could do CERPPC and CUAC20... but still.

The Thor was the only Clan mech I was considering........ And now I don't care it exists.

Edit - I actually have to vent on this.

In MW4, The Thor was my favorite mech. In the much hated Mech Assault Series, the Thor was my favorite mech. I know I can't be alone on this, but I feel Like PGI just punched Me in the Soul. I promised myself if thing in this game got to a point where I felt PGI was delivering on what they promised and I still had time for the A la Catre option for a summoner, I'd get it because it's favorite clan design. I had so many Good Memories with this thing. With the exception of that one mech I'm an IS guy, but dear lord when ever I used it I felt it Lived up to the name THOR. And as some one that Follows Asatru, and saying something lives up to that name is one of the Greatest compliments that can be given.

PGI YOU DO NOT NAME SOMETHING AFTER THE GOD OF THUNDER AND MAKE IT AWFUL!

I'm Going to just punch a wall with pagan Rage now. / Endrant

Better bring some big guns to fill them holes. Or just swap out the pods from another summoner, maybe there'll be more on the other variants (although they typically keep the same number of hardpoints across a chassis).

Max of 5 with pods swapped appropriately. However;

Most effective heavy builds currently use 3-4 weapons anyways, 1-2 ballistics and 1-2 energy.

Oh I know. But they really need to change it to 2 ballistic, 2 energy, and 2 missile if they expect anyone to pay real money for it.

The other Thor configs arnt much better off. At best youll be able to pick up 1-2 additional missile hardpoints from mixing in the b configuration. For a total of 1 ballistic, 1 energy, and 2-3 missile. You could also just play the b configuration which has 5 missile (but youd probably be better off with a Madcat or Vulture)

(1) Hey, it could be effective if clan weapons are accidentally overpowered!
(2) [re]Read how clan mechs work - basically, you can swap and mix and match hard points, potentially.
I personally have no idea what the Summoner will have, but it's possible for example that there will be a Thor with 2 energy in the right arm, and a thor with 2 energy in the left arm, and one with 2 missile ballistic in the torso, do a little mixing and matching, and now your thor has 6 hard points!

Although hopefully they fix the mechlab, because trying to get your 2x xp on 3 mechs when you have to move the torsos, weapons, armor, and ammo after every win to the next chassis could get rough.

In other words, we really have no idea what the Clan mechs will be like or how good they will be, and probably won't for several months. Although I think they released the Mad Cat (Timberwolf) hard points somewhere, but the whole design is subject to change.

All the clan mechs posted have the minimum number of hardpoints for their loadout. An extra balancing pass to plot out extra hardpoints will probably take some time.

They can't even do the easy-mode of 'this variant gets an extra ballistic and this other variant gets an extra energy' since everyone would just swap arms to but on the max hardpoint anyway, so balancing any extra hardpoints will be a little trickier

The B allows you to have a 5 missile hard point variant. The C has 2 energy in the arm.

If we get a D variant with the ballistics in the sides, I will be tempted to get clan package, but other than that I have zero hype for my summoner :<

Thats only the prime variant

The B Variant will have at least 5 missile hardpoints according to canon. The D 4 energy and a ballistic.

The Thos always was a hard hitting mobile mech with good sustainability (ie, heat dissapation). It was relativily lightly armoured compared to some others though.

Right but equipping components from the B or D will have penalties. Since they said the better components will have penalties to balance them out. So the result is that the Thor will be penalized to have the same hardpoints as other heavies.

Yea - the Thor has very limited hardpoints and limits its viability.

Let's hope the Clan Mechs are better than the Phoenix Package.

Have to point out that is for the Prime variant, and thus, depending on what the other arms and torsos offer, could differ radically? Kind of the point of Omnis is being able to swap the body parts? If every section ends up with 2-3 hardpoints, too many Omnis will suddenly be swapped around and minmaxxed to end up with like 12+ hardpoints. On mechs with heavier hardpoints on the main config, I am sure, where possible, their alternates will have lesser hardpoints to try to balance things. The DireWolf may prove rather difficult to do this on, though.

Let's all step back and think thru BEFORE we QQ.

Don't worry, guys!

Don't overreact until you know all the facts.

3 hardpoints is PLENTY for the power that Clan tech will have over IS tech!

Won't there be a bonus for using a matched set of limbs?

and while Alt congfig A will (probably) be similar to the Primary (bet they tweak an extra hardpoint just to make it different, unless they skip it)

Alt Config B will have 2 Missile Hardpoints per arm, and one in the LT along with dual AMS
Alt Config C will have a dual energy hardpoint RA
Alt Config D will have 2x Energy HArdpoints per arm, a Ballistic and second AMS in the LT and assumably a targeting computer in the RT.

Call me crazy, but while it won't be the most hard point heavy Omni in the game, it looks pretty customizable as taking the LT of the (D), LA of the (;), RA of the (D) and RT of the (D) would give 2 AMS, 1 Ballistic, 2 Missile, 2 Energy and a Targeting Computer. Which with a locked engine is plenty of hardpoints for the 22 tons it has for weapons.

Or one can add the LA from the (PRIME), (A) or (C) to the above combo, and build the ultimate Clan Metarape Special, an 89 kph, Jumping clan mech with target computer, dual AMS, twin ballistics and twin energy.

They said omni pods will have quirks, not disadvantages?

Can I punch you with trueborn rage for calling it a Thor? IT IS A SUMMONER, SURAT.

Also, if it was your favorite 'Mech then you should have known that the Prime variant only had 3 weapons.

EDIT: Before you take offense, I am RPing. Mostly. ;)

But then: Perfect counter part of the CTF-3D with dual ER PPCs, dual Clan Ultra AC5s. That is a problem. ;)

Edit: I admit, it's gonna be a struggle in the Clan world after looking through the hardpoints. We'll see.

Yeah but most mechs with only 2-3 weapons in canon have more hardpoints in MW:O.
