Challenge: Max Sustained Dps Builds

Still a new-ish player. Been mostly playing lights and fast mediums. Been wanting to get into something heavier, maybe even assault class. Im looking for a useable build, no cheese builds with 100 engines or no armor. Also has to have enough ammo for more than 1 volley, ie "sustainable" firepower. Cost is not an issue (except MC mechs, all my MC goes to bays).

Toss 2 ac5's and an ac2 on a Jager, a couple of medium lasers, a decent engine and ammo capacity and make anyone within 600 meters of you hate YOUR GUTS....

Highest dpm mech in my garage...Its a bit hot running and a bit slow but woe be unto whoever i get in my crosshairs that isnt paying attention...alpha the lasers, and just gun them down till i get heat warning, hide, cool off, wash rinse repeat. I bought it during the x2 valentines event, and did so much damage I finished the basics in 2 games with about 3 to 4k xp spare. have enough xp piled up on it to finish elite already and havent even had it long.

Ba-doom
I personally prefer something that can do decent DPS, but with a very high burst DPS for 10 seconds or so, if you can put out 100-150 in that time, any single mech in front of you is going to be dead or really hurt.

Agreed. Just as an example, I'd much rather have a quad AC/2 Jager than that MG variant. It can't sustain fire forever, but it puts out 16 dps for quite a while before you have to back off due to heat.
I did play around with a variation on that MG Jager, though. It was fun, but it's totally a troll build.

can't go wrong with any of those mechs. Direct fire support builds I recommend triple ultras or dual ultras and dual ac2's. If you're more into high alpha, you can do dual GR or dual ac20. CTF-3D, and the Victors/ highlander I recommend playing with dual ppcs, two JJ, and a mix of whatever ballistics you like. I use ac20 on my victor, and ac10 on my 3d.
The VTR, CTF-3D, CTF-IM and Jagers all go above 70 kph with speed tweak.(except the ac40 build probably)
My speeds, VTR-9S(78kph) CTF-3D(76kph) CTF-IM(71 kph) JM6-S(76kph)
Most heavys are played as support mechs, while atlas's and HNG's tank damage. Doesn't always work out that way of course.

Another "good" way to get DPS or better to annoy targets (because that's all DPS do) is a couple of chained LRM5s.
This is more croud control but it still works if done right.

I have fun in my 4x, it's actually one of my mechs above a 2.00 kdr. I haven't tried the four ac5s though, I run dual ultras and dual ac2s. Not so slow after speed tweak, 65kph.

Nothing beats the Ilya currently. There's a reason it's known as the most viable non alpha mech.

You should really stay with Levis build for that...

Kinda mad not to use that heat capacity...
Ilya Muromets with some lazors
Dakka always, use lasers when heat allows.
That 270 ammo might look excessive but it really isn't, it's pretty normal that I use 200+ ammo in a game if I survive game. + it allows player to shoot enemies at extreme range with lowered damage, which still hurts... but if that build would be tight on ammo I wouldn't want to shoot enemies at the range of 1200 meters or even further away.
But if you feel that is too much ammo just remove 2 tons and add two DHS.

I also possess an Ilya and yes it's a great DPS monster, but i just like the ShadowHawk Chassis better.
This is also a high DPS Ilya, with DPS=10 as long as you don't use the mediums, and less if you do.
