1 month now sine the implementation of cockpit glass we've seen a temp fix that was taken away, then silence from PGI. Some people STILL have an issue with it causing migraines. Yet nothing from PGI. We heard a few comments on twitter from russ about it being looked into in the first few days but since then silence.

IF YOU THINK IGNORING THE ISSUE WILL MAKE US GO AWAY YOUR WRONG. WE'RE STILL HERE WE'RE STILL ASKING FOR A FIX STOP IGNORING US.

I'm curious as to your actual vision. Do you wear glasses or contacts? Have any vision issues at all? I'm not trolling, it's just that I do not experience the problem whatsoever and I know most others do not.

20/7 Yes that's better than 99% of the worlds population. I can read a book from across a room. My vision has nothing to do with it. It's how some people's brain process what they see. If my car had glass like is portrayed in game I could adjust because my vision can focus PAST the occlusions in the glass. You can't do that with a 2 dimensional flat screen image.

Most people who play this game have lived all their lives watching TV and playing video games, they ignore the dirt and dust on the screen. I watched little tv as a kid then spent 20 years as a sniper in the US Army, again not watching a screen and depending on my natural eye sight. The occlusions are always in focus in game they don't blur away as normal eyesight would cause them to do and the eye is drawn to the occlusion changing the focal point constantly causing the headache. As i said most people ignore this and if I spent 12+ hours a day sitting here playing this game I would eventually adjust. I like the game but not enough to put the rest of my life on hold for it.

Tone down the occlusions, give us a toggle for the effect, I don't care just do something so I can drop more than 1-2 matches without getting a headache.

There are other problems with the glass, or lighting effect depending on how you see it, that make the effect worse on some mechs and maps. Light from high angles cause less problems than from lower angles but the light shining through the back of the cockpit is the biggest issue here. In general the effect is decent but it needs some serious fixes. The worst offenders for the mechs are the Atlas, Dragon, and Highlander. Maps are HPG, Forrest colony, & Tourmaline. I like the effect on the side windows to an extent but on the center panel it needs serious work.

There is another issue that PGI is also ignoring, We started with and still have film grain, it has been explained that this is because what we see is an electronic image fed to us through the mechs sensors.

OK so why do we have glass then? or if were seeing with our eyes through a cockpit and it's glass why do we have film grain?

PGI Ignore questions like these because they are inconvenient to them. They have no explanation why we have both and they hate admitting they were wrong on anything.

Got a DD-214 to back that tall claim up?

The issue comes from some of us having more of our balance controlled by eyesight than our inner ear. When I was in the army (45K10 with DD-214 in my filing cabinet  ) I couldn't ride in an enclosed vehicle for any length of time because the motion my inner ear was experiencing was vastly different than the visual input I was getting from my surroundings. Inside of two minutes, I was doing my best Linda Blaire impersonation any time I couldn't see outside.

With MWO, the effect is less, but still there. The disparity between the reflections chasing across the cockpit glass (which really don't follow any sort of realistic light / shadow mechanics. appearing on the cockpit when I'm in complete shadows at times) combined with the pock marks dancing as the mech moves makes my stomach do slow rolls. I shouldn't have to take dramamine in order to play a damn video game.

This could all be taken care of if they would simply include a toggle to switch it off. According to the majority of what I've read in other threads, the glass effect doesn't impede the performance of those that like it. That said, I have to ask how it would give anyone with the glass toggled off an advantage? If it doesn't affect your ability to play when it's turned on, how could I have any sort of upper hand if I have it toggled off? The only 'benefit' I would get from having it toggled off is being nausea free.

I luckily don't get actually sick from the glass effect, I just hate it and think that it detracts from game play. I want it gone!
