I noticed the ''a la carte'' Clan Mechs have different names to those in the standard Clan packs.
For example, the Timber Wolf is shown under its correct name in the Clan Packs, but it's shown as a Mad Cat in the ''a la carte''. Similarly, the Warhawk/Masakari are shown with different names, and so on.
Will there any real actual difference between in these Mechs, in the Packs vs A La Carte?
I tried a forum and FAQ search, couldn't see an explanation to this.

Look at the package contents, the mechs are named the same. The package name is not the name of the mech.

I don't recall an official comment on it, but I imagine it'll be akin to the Heavy Metals kill music with 8 different tunes to choose from.

Actually, both name types are correct. There is no "correct" one, because the Inner Sphere forces used names in order to report/track enemy types.
That's like saying NATO reporting names for Soviet forces were incorrect. Just force based.
example: A large Soviet aircraft.
The Antonov An-225 "Mriya" (Meaning "Dream") (NATO: "Cossack")
Personally I think it would be cool if they were called by their IS names when you're driving an IS mech, and by their clan names when driving a clan mech.

What I want to know is what the social goal under the clans purchase page means. Also how do we get it. Can't seem to find much info.

Social just means everyone who buys gets the reward irrespective of when they bought a mech/package, I think. We get it if the sales goals are met for each level.

I'm not so sure about that. There's the monthly timed items, but the Clan social gives no clue.
