Does this fix everything that has ever been levied against the playerbase? No.
Was this overdue? Yes
Is this yet another step in the right direction? Yes.
Is this welcome? Yes.
This for me was akin to a Double C-Bill weekend in terms of incentive. I've been of the opinion that I'll wait until PGI fixes the sheer clunk with the Mech Loadouts, gives proper sorting options of our mechs, streamlines the UI usability and gives me a way to remove those bloody Trial Mechs from my Mech List.
For me, UI 2.0 has been a lot of small problems that has had me gnashing my teeth at the system, things that have driven me up the wall. But this challenge had me overcome pain in the butt it is for me to grab those 5 wins.
Got those 5 wins quickly enough and the CENT was dropped into my inventory practically instantly. I've had enough time with a Cent in the past so I just stripped it for parts and sold it but this incentive is a good boost to newer players that don't have options in their mech list. The Champion Cent is also one of the better Champions that PGI has made.

I really hope they keep this as one of the first achievements... ok maybe 10 wins for that but this would be a cool thing for new players
