I got mine pugging.
Maybe you should take a breather and try again later.

I will say, too, this is smart because the Cent isn't a particularly faction specific mech. It's a good overall shared mech to have in the mechbay.

Drop with some friends. I got one win solo and four with my clan. I have a good friend who drops solo most of the time and got his five wins fairly quickly. It is far from impossible and you have almost four days to do it, so statistically you should easily be able to get five wins.

I had two guys fighting over who should be giving orders to the team in my last match just now. They were insulting each other in the midst of combat. I just couldn't take any more of it, lol.

Also so youre saying just because each other time they only awarded one item rather than multiple they couldnt have given you two? You really are special. If they could inject a single item they could inject multiple, they just would add a second section of code that is identical to the one for the first item but contains the parameters for the second.
This UI has done nothing to change any of this, the counting of wins was not and still is not done through the UI, its server side and still handled how it was before. The new UI doesnt handle items being added to the account any differently then before either.
Jeesh. Think for a moment.
Well, all I will say is that although the difference is minute (data being refreshed properly after relogging in), it's a lot more convenient when it is refreshed on demand. I think whatever code in the older UI 1.5 that didn't refresh stuff properly after being bought (like MC, or mechbays or whatever comes up)... it had to be redone... because it would be difficult to code alerts properly... and nothing good comes out of "not getting the urgent message that the server was going to come down". There was some weirdness with the state of the game (like those previous challenges with the items).
Although, my particular experience with the addition was strange. I was informed of getting stuff, but I ended up getting a mechbay at that time. After dropping into another match, the popup came again with the Cent-A Champion. I wonder what would have happened had I bought a mech into that spare mechbay at the moment....

I'm of a different mindset. I will take free things all day long, but earning them means immensely more to me than getting it handed to me for participating. I love the idea Bryan talked about in the latest NGNG podcast where you could earn a mech through the achievement system, but if they are going to give one away for five wins over almost as many days, it takes all of the achievement out of the challenge.
I am all for it, and will enjoy the mech as I have only used trial centurions up until now, but I would rather feel a sense of accomplishment for being challenged, or it be just a true "thank you for playing" gift up front, than given the line "meet this challenge" without an actual challenge involved.
I've felt that way with Operation 24. That was my biggest gripe with the entire challenge. Now if you find stuff like say the Alienware heads... it's not a "challenge" but I guess it's the other "best" kind of free stuff you can get (the one where you stumble onto the goodies).
Oh well.

quite a smart move to encourage play, and it's been an idea asked of pgi for a while well done.

Consider it a free mechbay and Cbills then
Edit: if you do sell one - I would lean more toward selling the non-(C) one, as if nothing else, it earns 10% more GXP as well.
