Technically, it would be doable with the older UI. It just won't be as elegant as it would have most likely required you to logoff and log back in for the rewards. There would simply not be a nice obvious indicator or message saying "hey, you got new stuff".
That was how a lot of the older promotions kind of worked like Sarah's Jenner for instance)and tourney winnings.

You might start detecting the sarcasm by now.
So I get my shinny new Centurion, and low and behold, it doesn't COUNT AS A CENTURION!?!??!?! So no skill tree, just a mech. My savings are boned, no Centurion elite skills now for many many moons, and the whole skill tree is still a piece of you-know-what, the lore part of the game is still missing, the new 3D-lol mechbay still sucks, nothing has changed since I got bored with this game a while back, and they sucker me back for a day and then as usual, let me down. So much promise, so little delivery.
I will say the mech combat is great, well, maybe not getting cored right at the start of every other battle, but everything else still bites. I know many of you love the game, great, I'm happy for you. Maybe someday they'll get it right enough for me to log back in again.
If it's a bug, well, I hope they put out a decent announcement in email, cause I'm not bothering with it anymore.

Why would you do that instead of buying another Centurion, getting 5 WINS with that, and then grinding them up to Master level?

Also, forgive me, but... Centurions and Awesomes?
You're like one of those girls that keeps dating the wrong kind of men... choose your rides carefully .

Lost the next 7/8 Matches. I switched to the Champion Stalker around the 5th-6th game, since one of the guys is a pretty dang good Spotter. Jumped my numbers up to over 400 Damage and a High of 11 Assists and 0 Kills. Great game for fire support!
One of the guys Dropped(the Scout) to take care of his life. We picked up a new 4th... We won the next 3/5!
Elo Working as intended.
Got my Shiny New Centurion!

It should have showed up after the the pop up window congratulating you on your acheivement. Also... My Cent came to me with already Elite Unlocks as I unlocked the non Champion version already. Can't wait to get this tricked out to be a Centurion again.

Well considering that Zombies only really want to eat brains I'm not sure how that works. Do I need to set up a brain farm? Is that the development?
I might however be more satiated with a "cheesey role" for this medium again though.

It counts as a CN9-A. They might want to clarify that for the new players, but people who have apparently played this game so much that they got bored with it should be able to figure it out.
I didn't read anything else from this post after "the 3D mechbay sucks trololololol!" because anyone who thinks a big rotational view of your mech is crappy is actively trying to find something to ***** about.

My Anton Alt took 7 matches to win 5 times. Can we have a Griffin Giveaway Weekend? 'm a Lyran player and a Griffin is the quintessential Lyran Medium.

Just got my Cent and my 5-year old is so excited about it. This will be his main ride for testing ground.

Really though, I tried a few things with the Cent, and just couldn't find a setup I liked. I could use the extra GXP aspect of it, but it just seems too slow and too hard to mount a good loadout with a standard engine.
I'll keep the Cent, but I really would need to find a good loadout. If anyone has any ideas on loadouts, let me know. Besides, It is SORT OF a gift from PGI, so I hate to sell it right away LOL.

Lol ... give me a break. Although overall I like the look and feel of UI2.0 better as well as some of the features like the ones related to sales and events ... I don't think anyone can deny that UI2.0 has some significant and severe shortcomings when it comes to usability.
- no descriptions or details on any of the items you can buy in the store (including no idea what a mech comes with or what items a bundle package contains).
- huge icons and small fonts cluttering up the page making it difficult to read and assess what the items do
- no details on loadouts and modules on a mech without actually going to the configure screen and looking at the relevant mech section - this makes it extremely difficult to find any module, engine or other item that you may have left equipped somewhere ... this gets extremely painful after you have a few mechs and for those with 20 or more mechs it is a nightmare to find something if you don't remember where it was last used.
- no integrated inventory listing everything you own as opposed to everything not equipped
... there are many, many more usability issues with UI2.0 that should never have seen general release, So, as much as I appreciate the "challenge" to earn a mech ... I would have preferred a better designed implementation of UI2.0 far more.
