Anyone ever see this before? I've TAG'd tons of stuff and never seen it once, but I got it a few hours ago on a 'Mech with nether TAG nor a PPC …

Counter - ECM bonus. It's for things like BAP, UAV and running ECM in counter mode. TAG and NARC are a separate bonus. While a bonus for using PPCs to counter ECM would be neat, that is not currently a thing.

Hey Goose, that's counter ecm rewards for knocking out ecm temporarily OR permanently. I get that you were not TAGGing, nor using PPC, but one can get it from a few other situations. To start with, there have been times with PPC or TAG, that I have hit the opponent, gotten the "crossed out" ecm letters, but not gotten the reward... I believe you may need to counter the ecm and then have a teamate deal damage within that counter window of time to get the reward, similar to how spotting assists require you to not justtarget an opponent no one else on your team has, but then for another teamate to damage that opponent, before you get the assist.

You might be baffled as to how you countered without PPC or TAG and interestingly I have found it could also be from the destruction of the guardian ecm unit, by means of a normal critical. I think, just like for PPC OR TAG, a fellow teamate hitting right after your shot actually DESTROYED their ECM equipment qualified you for the c-ecm reward.

P.S. In response to a reply above and to clairify, I have never yet run the UAV MODULE/CONSUMABLE, yet have gotten the c-ecm reward before, so it is not solely a thing the UAV does. This also can be given if Goose chose to run a Beagle Active Probe and it countered a single nearby enemy ecm for the requisite period of time. Only Goose knows if BAP/UAV was being used then, but again it has seemed to me, actual destruction of the ecm equipment by crit can do this. I have seen it register at times when shooting Atlas DDC left torso, though not always...I would hazard a guess that if the ddc ecm is lost because the torso is out of internal structure, rather than from a direct crit to ecm crit location, it will not register as c-ecm.

The Counter-ECM bonus is for five consecutive seconds of countering enemy ECM.

BAP can do it.
ECM in Counter mode can do it.
Successive PPC shots can do it.
TAG can do it.
Critting/destroying the enemy's ECM can do it. (unconfirmed)
