I recently finished the basic skills on the FS9-S and decided the H would be interesting to do next.

This is what I have so far:

I don't know how I feel about the Large Laser, mostly due to heat concerns. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Anything fun to do with those ballistic hardpoints? Open to pretty much anything.

Edit: OOPS JJs (good looking out Ingga)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking I would ditch that Large for.

I think you should just turn it into a Hollander. So, maybe just do this...

But in all seriousness, what do you think about doing this one? I like the LL because it's similar to what I have run before on my Spiders and Locusts where you have a nice little range attack.

my sensible build
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...66d07254882ae86

i run my BLR-1G with 6mlas i know the punch it has, put that on a mobile light platform? yes please
6mlasx5dmg=facemelting

large lasers on small mechs... that single 5ton llas 9dmg you can have 5 1ton mlas@5dmg ea do the math :) or all that tonnage for other fun stuff like heatsinks tag and ams jumpjets

do you have ssrms? lrms? then you dont need/want bap have to be rich on tonnage to get bap and not really utilize it asside from spotting/counter ecm assists

if you want to be really trolly
gauss rifle
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0d46b87d1327291
ac20
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...692722f57e0eb0c
i mightve forgotten to put ct armor not like it will matter those are garbage builds possibly work if you were supporting your heavies/assaults burst down larger prey, dead once a light or streaker sees you going atlas speed

Properly Gaussed. You can slap AC10+2xML, 2xAC2, and other heavy gun setups on it. Keep in mind that those will make you look pretty stupid if speed is needed (e.g. big maps on Conquest). For something halfway useful, I would suggest 4xML+whatever. Really, whatever.

This is my build:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...deaf802a597c72e

Basically, each arm is a weapon group, and then the Torsos are the 3rd weapon group. Use the MLs to strip off armor and take potshots. When you find a target missing armor, get close and unleash the power of MEGA CRIT WEAPONS! I took out an Atlas' leg the other day, which was HIGHLY satisfying. If you use the Crit weapons AND the MLs, you'll start heating up pretty fast, but using the ML's by themselves and being patient with your shots, heat really isn't an issue.

I've found the XL280 engine is enough, and gives you room for more HS. I'd consider the 2x2MLs in the arms, 2 MG, and 2 SPL or SL builds for better heat efficiency, and simply tie the MGs into the SPL/SL fire buttons for ease of use. Should be effective for ripping though mechs (SPLs peal off the armor, MGs tear though the innards).

Go big, or go home.

Not recommended for actual gameplay unless you are hideously drunk and/or tired of winning.

Go bigger. Why would you carry all that arm armor? :(

Most fun I've had in a light: when you can sometimes deal around 50 damage with the Ultra in the space of a few seconds, it's worth the jamming risk. Would really like to come up with a build with more JJ's 'cause a flying Ultra is just painful for the heavier 'mechs to deal with.

3 ML + 2 tons ammo (what I use now)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d190ebceb5479f3

4 SL + 3 tons ammo (could swap smalls for 2 ML but I find myself within 180m half the time)

I've run this as a joke a few times because I had a spare Gauss and XL-175 sitting in my inventory.

But my primary build is essentially stock, I just trade two of the flamers for ML's and swap the standard engine and heat-sinks for a XL and DHS.

Why no Endosteel? You can fit it, move up to an XL255, and drop in another HS.

Because I whipped it up in under a minute :D The xl 245 was a left-over from an old Raven build that I ended up selling

ETA:
I did eventually add endo-steel and an AMS, but it stayed in that configuration for a good long time simply because I enjoyed the way it played and thus felt no need to tamper with it or spend the c-bills.
