Allow a user to save [2] additional alternate camo and paint schemes, that they can use as presets and switch between. If an alternate preset camo and paint scheme uses a camo that the user only had a one time unlock for previously, then the user will need to pay the one time unlock when applying the scheme again. Additionally, the user could be given the option to unlock the scheme on the chassis as well.
Number in brackets is an example placeholder value.

I would support this idea if color change of a camo scheme cost no extra MC. For example my Raven 3-L has the digital camo pattern that I paid the one time fee for. I like that pattern on my scout and see no reason to change it. BUT I would like to abillity to change the colors to fit the environment I'm fighting in. For example woodland colors for forest colony, arctic color for frozen city, or urban colors for river city.

The charge for the one time use camo unlock would only apply if the preset you are selecting would require changing the camo to a previously, but not currently, used one time unlocked camo. It would not apply if the preset's camo is the same as your current camo. Think of the presets as just a quick way of selecting camo and paint.

That's my point why charge me extra if I'm using the same pattern just different colors with that same pattern. If you propose being charged for the color change then I cannot support your idea sir.

Environmentally based color schemes for the paint patterns users can set themselves is what you're looking for. If you want an example look at World of Tanks. They have Summer and Winter patterns for all the tanks that can be set allowing you to change the appearance of the tank for thos environments.
It's an all around good system.
For us it'd be more setting it for Temperate, Artic, Volcanic, Space environs for the color schemes.

I don't understand where you think I'm suggesting you get charged if the camo pattern doesn't change. I thought it was pretty clear from the beginning that the charge is if you are applying a previously used one time unlock that is not on the currently selected scheme - i.e. you are buying a one time unlock for a pattern you previously removed.
My clarification post spelled out that if you currently have that same one time pattern camo on the currently selected scheme and the scheme you are switching to, then you WOULD NOT BE CHARGED.

BUMP. This suggestion needs to see the light of day.
You have about 4 to 14 days before a dropship lands you on a planet in system. There is no reason why a mech cannot be painted appropriately to the climate and map.
