I know its not out yet but this thing is going to be a beast! 10 hardpoints on a 95 ton mech, this must be why it has a lower engine cap than the others. Its also why I might not buy the hero, but the all energy variant doesnt appeal to me so I might buy the hero anyways.

It baffled me as well. This is superior to the hero in every way, with almost the same hardpoint layout but with more hardpoints. Engine is capped at 345, but I doubt you will want to go higher than that. The only thing hero does better is better torso twist, which hardly matters in most situations.

Well I actually love big engines in assults if they have the size and hitboxes to make good use of the speed. So that part does matter to me, aswell as aglity (turning etc.). Still though this mech is going to be amazing.

basically Hero mechs may offer you some different quirks, and cbill bonus, and help support the game. Hero mechs are not meant to be all powerful munchie machines. so it comes down to if you want to pay for the item and have it now, or wait for the standard variants to be released at a later time. although I don't think jump jets would have made the La Malinche OP, it would have been better to be able to mount them, but not used with the current load out.

Still, they try to make the heroes actually different, rather than better or worse. For example Heavy Metal is the most mobile HGN of them all with 5JJ and higher engine cap along with arm mounted E hardpoints instead of torso. Protector is the only Orion that can snipe reasonably well, thanks to its high mounted E hardpoint. Ember is the "coolest" Firestarter of them all, with attractive 4B hardpoints . . . and so on. Heroes are usually attractive in their own way, providing different gameplay compared to other variants.

This one is downright inferior to 3S.

^Not "downright", it does have speed, aglity, and the most arm mounted E hardpoints which isnt nothing , but the 3S has FAR better hardpoints IMO.

This really isnt about how bad one is compared to the other, I just thought a 95 ton mech with 10 hardpoints was note worthy. And that loadout seems epic to me.

Seems hot to me. I think your DPS will tank in a heated firefight. Might be better to use AC/5s instead of the AC/20. I don't know though.

I snapped up the ember and haven't regretted it once but this new hero isn't wowing me, I'll be waiting for the c-bill variants as well.
