I have recently started putting SSRM2's on several of my bigger Assaults builds and noticed that on River City, small mechs,i.e.. Spider, Jenner, Ember, Comms, when in the water, are not taking damage from the Streaks.

Is this as intended?

My streaks are hitting the water and detonating, instead of hitting the mech.

Wasn't sure to post this, hope this is the correct spot.

Thanks.

Water decreases damage from Ballistics and Energy, and Missiles detonate on contact with the surface of the water. This is as intended.

It is great fun being a small mech with high mounted weapons in deep water.

I have found that I have better luck if I jump before launching Streaks at a 'Mech in water. Coming in at an angle like that means more missiles hit the target rather than the water.

Indeed. If the movement code ever does apply water slowdown, the lights will find this a mixed blessing.

Saw something slightly related to this over on the NGNG forums: Underwater Locust

Kinda like a shield for the entire mech.

Now if 'Mechs could only crouch. The locust could be, situationally, as durable as a Jenner Commando!
(I love my derpy little locust)

I love that everyone loves their locusts... as long as they end up on the other team. That way I can aim in their general direction and they generally fall over just from ammunition passing near them! Although the emergency dive is pretty neat...
