Here's some proof that with smart thinking and some hit and run tactics, you can do just fine in a locust (3m at least).

BTW my build was the largest engine and 5 SPL, full basic skills

Just because you can do well in a locust does not mean you wouldn't have done better in a different mech. A competent and/or persistent player can get kills in anything, but will still do dramatically better in a good mech with a good build.

Locusts are troll mechs. You can troll by hiding under water, sneaking behind LRM boats with double AMS, flamers, running through formations dropping Arty, leading people into traps, and by DOING GOOD! Doing good in a Locust still qualifies as trolling though.
