This and why do they generate so much heat? They generate 1 heat per 10 seconds in tabletop and 20 heat per 10 seconds in MWO. Thats 20 times more heat.

And why dont AC/5s have a ghost heat limit of 2?

Because Paul

4 AC2' generate more damage than 2 AC20's over 4 seconds... its not unreasonable.

My advice , use 3 AC2' + an MG for crit happy goodness. Besides Ghost heat isn't that bad, just be aware. It likely you've been playing like that for a long time and never noticed

It was implemented like this to stop people from trolling. There's no good reason to chain-fire AC/2s in quick succession - it reduces your effective damage output while simultaneously turning your target's game into Earthquakewarrior: Online. There used to be a thread from (Niko Snow?) about it on the forums.

So instead of reducing the shakes from AC2s, like any sensible person would do, PGI opted to take the stupid way out?

Ghost heat, as bad as it's implementation was, was trying to answer the big alpha problem, not macro chain fires.
