Sometimes my drop commander asks me to power down and stay powered down for the whole remaining part of the match. That gives me time to look around in my cockpit and yesterday when asked to power down an idea struck me! How about adding different shoes as a cockpit item? I know Team Fortress have hats, why can't we have shoes? I'm thinking sneakers, wellingtons, high heels for pilots into that sort of stuff and maybe even clogs for the dutch players.

Photoshop talents maybe can provide with some graphics?

A pair of shoes as a hanging item might be nice, running on the gag of throwing a pair of laced together shoes on a power line, see those from time to time. Could work.

Why on earth does your "drop commander" tell you to power down, and why do you actually do it?

cause he's the leader? ;)
Some folks wanna play the game doing what may be best for the whole team instead on selfish ambition? :(

A new snazzy suit would be nice too... and gloves with spikes on them.

Drop commander is the guy leading our 12-man group. He generally tells the other pilots where to go, who to shoot etc. I often get the order "...and Evil Ed, you go to the water and do your thing", meaning that I run out in the water to certain spots with my locust, if there is any water, and power down. It can be up to 14 minutes I have to sit submerged in the water, so a nice pair of shoes would be nice to look at.

You mean like one type of shoe on left foot and another on the right? Yes, good idea, that might be handy for pilots struggling with left/right. "Red shoe is left, green shoe is right".

Shoes and other pilot clothing might be interesting stuff, but your exposure to them is pretty limited.
