You can't have 3400 points unless you do like 3000 damage. It was a bug.

Previous ones, yes. They were unbearable PPC/Gauss fests. But then again back then the heat scale didn't exist, PPC heat was low and Gauss didn't have charge.

This one is different though. There is a lot of variety because of the medium focus, there are brawlers of all kinds running around and the matches are much more mobile. Since tourney forces players to drop solo, there are less min-max groups steamrolling around and the matches are usually very close.

The gameplay is definitely better than normal times.

So you're saying all leaderboards were and still are bugged? I highly doubt that...
1) the formula isn't just according damage but also kills & assists
2) right now there are also players on the leaderboards tha have 2300+ points and certainly didn't do 2000+ damage...

Event is better, now that the scoring is fixed. I miss my fake score that I had previously, but it obviously wasn't real. The only issue I have now is the rampant use of Arty and Air strikes. You pretty much HAVE to run them to help make sure you maximize your assist and damage bonuses. While this has helped me practice with using them, I still feel dirty as to me it takes away from Mech driving and puts more onto clicky. Plus these modules greatly are less threat to you the lighter your mech as you move fast enough to get out of the radius easily. If you're driving a big assault stopping and getting out of smoke is near impossible.

Still, it's an improvement. It's just not there yet.

12 kills (+win, +you live) will net you about 300 points. 1000 damage is 66.6 more points. To have a score of 3400 you'll need to have an average score of 340 in 10 games, that means 10 games with 11-12 kills and 1000+ damage. Do you claim you had 10 games like that?

No but those guys that are currently on 1st and 2nd places with 2400 points will also certainly not have played matches of 8-10 kills and ~1000 damage as well right?

Had couple of games with ~800 dmg and 4-5 kills but I highly doubt anything higher is doable for a MEDIUM.

Just don't. Medium are strong.



I have no time to enter the competion, but it is possible. The main issue with the tournament is that anyone is allowed to try as many times she wishes.

MWO tournaments are blah ... why play all weekend for a 5 dollar prize? All it proves is that you can sit and play and play for hours. Yes, I am on the leader boards and have been in the past. If PGI wanted to have a real tournament it would do it Solaris style.

Probably too much to ask from PGI though.

Best match so far for me was 8 kills 2 assist 985 damage unfortunately we lost this one ( i didn't die). But my fault for playing shadowhawks, the competition is unreal.

The competition is there. The teamplay and fundamentals are not. It almost feels that people have forgotten how a team is supposed to be successful, only for the squirrelly locust kill.

Seeing they're not showing ads why would it be? The point is to make people have fun and spend money because they like the game. If someone wanted to play all weekend they still could. I would love to play my shadow for 20 games, my jag for 20, my jenner for 20, kt18 for 20 and so on. As of now if you want to win you need to be good, lucky and play one mech all weekend long.

I agree to a certain extend, noticed that the way i play changed since I switch targets more often to get assists and go for "smoking" mechs to get the kills, don't work on a certain mech anymore, don't lead charges anymore and drop strikes on the last left enemy mech. But all in all I don't think that it affects teamplay to an extend that one could say you didn't contribute.

Not surprising that its more fun if people are encouraged to play in mediums as it is not dominated by the Assault AC/PPC sniper blob.

It will also be more fun to play a medium due to the fact that opposition on the field is made up of more Mechs with similar capabilities than the normal Meta.

Though I'm sure some people will continue to pilot the best cheese for the tournament knowing there will be a greater abundance of Medium pinatas to aim at.

Without Flaming or naming.. I can truly say this medium vs the world is going to the hackers :-(.
I Witnessed the newest hack in its Glory. The Mediating Damage hack.
Quick Example. raven takes a ac20 in the back.. it hits his head/lt/rt/rrt/rlt/ct/rct/ra/la/rl/ll. the raven was standing still sniping. so when I hit him he didnt know were he was getting hit from. BECAUSE it hit him EVERYWERE. And then I shot him again in the back DEAD CT and 2 MPL.. and still yellow armor.. all section flash.,.. and his damage was mediated.
this hs been going on for weeks but now All the hackers want MC for free so here they are in the competition.
Yes most of these types will be on the top of the list and getting MC credits. And yes this will get erase from this here soon because it is negative. But reporting good or bad is important. Take it with a grain of salt and FIX it.. Dont deny it..

So whats the leason today folks.. Cheaters win... :-(

Honestly, the best games I have had so far have been with great team work. You don't get 6 kills 1.2K damage without your team being there in some respect. Granted, if I had ten of those, my overall score would be better =)

Hey that's pretty close to my best match so far (8kills, 3 assists, 812 damage). Now if only I could get 9 more of those ...

14 games in a row lost due to idiotic teammates...

all were like 2:10 or 11. almost every game was with one or two disconnects at my team.. whats the point? how to farm "points" for the competition if you'll get dropped in handicaped teams all the time?
