Well, Clanners ARE genetically engineered to be "perfect"... The warriors at least.

Well of course the main concern is combat performance, but soldiers do have pretty well-toned bodies.

And yeah, we need a new thread for this. XD

What the OP's most ardent detractors do not like is that it is patently obvious that he, and many others of his ilk, have not taken the time to read EVERYTHING about BT/MW. If he had, he would have understood that you cannot just bring whatever you want into the game, and insert it into canon. Clan Blood Scorpion? Blood Scorpion Clan would have been okay as a merc faction, but NOT a canon Clan. (oh, and Blood Scorpion's abbreviation would indeed have to be "BS" or "cBS" to avoid confusion with Clan Blood Spirit, a valid canon Clan, despite it not being an Invasion Clan.)

Frankly, I have gotten to the point where any canon argument presented by any MW:O player is moot because PGI is not really making a BT-based game, I said BT-Based, not BT-accurate. Even that level of detail will not bring players in. They are slowly turning the game into Mechassault, a game which was not yet, at the time, considered canon. Microsoft wants an Xone mech title, PGI is gradually giving it to them. A "minimally viable game" (Russ's words, not mine) is what they have and what is appropriate for a console with aim assist. I just hope the game never sees "plus ups" appear on the ground or air when you destroy something.

F2P companies have found, sometimes too late, that you should not EVAR create a "minimally viable game" with a branded IP, because you chase your biggest fans away and casual players will drift on to the next game. Players like OP are not the biggest fans. Why? They don't really know the canon, they only pick the parts they enjoy and discard the rest. To their detriment (which means loss of respect.)

It is ALL important in the world of BT because everything needs its context. I do not hold out great things for PGI's CW because the teams that would have made it a success are moving on because canon is being massaged in a poor way.

Just because someone disagrees with you on the MW:O forums does not mean they are wrong. It also means they may not be right. If you know the canon as well as the fanatical BT/MW fans do, then you will be able to hold your own and have rational discourse. Do not get your panties in a wad and go off in a huff. You want attention and you are getting it, it may just not be what you were expecting. Not everybody that plays this game is high school aged - chronologically or mentally.

Marack,

Through reading some of your posts and your general demeanor, here is what happens:

Marack: "Fellow RPers, I am taking this very serious, what do you think?"
RPers: "That's great. We have enough trouble getting actual factions in here, but we're glad you're coming at this with a good attitude!"
Marack: "Here is my RP postulate that I have come up with after not having a plan to read 15 to 25 years worth of lore, even if it was cliff noted for me in Sarna"
RPers: "Well we RP reject that, because it has no place here."
Marack: "Its just a game, why so serious?"
Rpers: "You opened up with that you were taking it serious... any upstart in a old universe would be instantly squashed by incumbent powers."
Marack: "I never get to have my opinion."

You come from a great place of passion and interest, but only for your own ideas, that's all. In order to carve your place out in the world, you have to at least have an understanding of the world.

Yeah I know. I am going to try a lot harder to do that. I want to be accepted in the community but I don't have the time nor the ability to research or get all the stuff that makes this community the way it is. So I am trying to do what I can based on my very fragmented lore.

You have said this same statement several times in the PGI forums - but that is all you've done, made the statement. I was 17 once, I had lots of free time to pursue ALL of my hobbies so do not give me that excuse.

If you are trying to do something serious based on your "very fragmented lore" then what you are trying to accomplish will be half-assed. If you are serious about school and try to do your best there, then being academically prepared for the Lore that is Canon Battletech, expect someone out here to take you to task just as a teacher might. Irrespective of the fact that this is a video game/fantasy realm.

Take the time to read the novels, take the time to research the TROs, etc. It is a hobby and if you are serious about your hobbies, then you will be a rabid consumer of everything available. If you are NOT willing to do this, then do not post anything you think might be considered non-canon blasphemy. People are willing to listen to just about anything, but, there needs to be something rational and consistent about it.

They are scary. Really burley, and muscular, may are tattooed, they have a temper that would scare the wool off a sheep etc (IMO the BT Cartoon did a good job at portraying them. The men not so much but the women YEAH. Make me shake in fear).

Try looking up This Chick or This One

The Elementals are the burly ones - Mechwarriors tend to be smaller to fit into the cockpits better

If you are complaining about not being seriously considered on the PGI/MW:O forums, you have no excuse for not fully educating yourself on a Branded IP with such a rich and storied background and player base. You make useless excuses.

From 1978 to 1998, after two years of college, I served my country, Sometimes, I didn't have any "spare time". Also, during the mid-to late 70's there was a Federal Hiring freeze and a few hotspots around the world. High school? I was an honors student and captain of two of the sports teams. I worked for the Park Service one summer, learned photography, played with model rockets, scuba dived, bicycled, ran competitively, etc. Computers just allow you to waste your time more selectively in one place.

You are unique, just like everybody else.

Basic Estes and Centuri (?). Sounding rockets, much smaller Saturn V and 1B, Little engine stuff back then in the mid-70s. Made black-powder cannons, too. Ever shoot a car shock absorber (less the spring, of course)? Great fun.

I envy you. I still have yet to do that. We fly the Estes F39J-6T Reloadable Engines. My dad just got Lvl 1 certified and can fly up to a J size Engine. We have an H size (and that thing is about as big around as a pop can). As for Black powder cannons... hehehehehe (hope FBI ain't reading) we made a Black Powder launcher which we use to launch small projectiles (like Legos and Marshmellows across the town). Our record is .5 of a mile now on our canon. We also like making Lego structures and then putting small fire crackers (well I say small actually closer to an M-60) and then..... We go a block away to fetch pieces. We do like our pyrotechnics.

We also have made our own Rocket Engine fuel and Black powder to some success. My mom kicked us outside when she found us cooking (literally) our own rocket fuel in her skillet. Apparently rocket fuel is primarily sugar lol. Our neighbors came out that night to walk their dog and were like "Hey Mark he Chris what you doing?" And my dad (Mark) said: "Cooking up some rocket fuel."

Our neighbors had many experiences with us..... Maybe that's why they moved *shrugs shoulders*

Your free time sounds awesome.

Be aware that changing runs the risk of offending said fans.

If you change because you do not want the fan.... who is a fan because of your "whining".... then the second sentence no longer fits..... <Headache Ensues>

I have had that line going through my head for years now - and it felt really good to get to quote it

This issue is not confined just to this forum, it can be found else where.

An example on youtube:
Poster 1 posts opinion or comment.

Reply: Keep your !@#)*$(*%$#*@%()%*)!$%* opinion to yourself!

Me: wtf...

Edit: It's even more poisonous when favorite music/artist is concerned. If you're interested, try to endure reading through comments regarding korean idol fandom...
