ok i want to get in to the battletech board game where is a good place to start/ what to buy 1st

You should buy the "BattleTech: Introductory Box Set" which you can get here:

There are two Introductory Box Set an old and a new one. Make sure to get the new one since the quality(especially of the plastic miniatures) is way better.

The boxed set is GREAT. Get the new one. Its a complete game. Nothing more needed. Ever. But you will WANT to get more for sure. Brilliant.
