I've been a huge fan of battletech, mechwarrior etc for a verrrry long time and it was a dream come true to discover (only recently) this game. I get to fight in my own mech, AWESOME!!!

Of course, every game has its downsides but here I want to hear from you guys on any great experiences you've had in the MWO game or anything you love about it.

I'll start it off.

For me, one of the best matches I had was a conquest match. For the majority of the game, a german guy in a catapult and myself, in a spider had been moving from cap to cap making sure we stayed in the lead. Unfortunately, the rest of the team were being smashed by a very well organised assault and were defeated in about 3 minutes.

The catapult guy turned to me and typed, 'I can't get away, you can, they are coming'.
I typed, 'rgr' as the lasers started hitting our position.
As I ran from about 8 mechs, the german guy finished typing, 'I'll keep them busy as long as I can.'

Of course, he only held them for about 30 seconds, the firepower was overwhelming. I spent easily 4 minutes weaving in and around the enemy (I couldn't shake them, they had about 3 jenners in their ranks).

For the entire time I ran, my team cheered me on while the enemy team laughed at my antics but in the end we won on the cap counter.

It was the comeraderie that had carried me through and my heart was pounding by the numerous hits I had taken. The feeling was incredible.

I hope to hear some great stories or fav's of the game.

Dev, if this is in the wrong area I apologise, I'm a noob :P

Well my favorite matches are usually the ones where something funny happens or my score is ridiculous. The other day I was in my griffin 3M on tourmaline and I shut down in mid-air and landed on a jenner who was running past.

BTW This is in the wrong area - it should be in the barracks section.

I remember a match on Caustic that ended up in a draw.

Imagine this, we split up into 2 groups of six and went for the pincer. But so did they. We ended having this extend brawl that bisected the map. We were just trading guys. I could kill one guy but he would kill a teammate. So I am just running around in an A1 firing 6 LRM5's on the chainfire. I finally run out of ammo and relegate myself to shielding teammates.

I am dead and it is like a 2 on 2 fight and a minute on the clock.

It was close, I think we had an atlas and a jenner left. The atlas dies! but at the last 30 seconds the jenner manages to kill a mech and it is now 11 - 11 score tied. The match ended before the conclusion. Everyone was over 200 damage in that game. It was a rough battle man.

Edit:

It was just one of those matches where everyone played well and there was just no clear winner to be had. I wish I had it recorded because it is a great example of how a good game be like.

My most memorable match was actually my very-first match (Conquest) on Tourmaline when it was released...

Match boiled down to two mechs left, a Jenner and I in my Phract.. I was mostly red and critical and the Jenner still pretty viable and my side was down on cap points.

I run my Phracts will big XLs so I was able to actually give chase on the light mech and it turned into a game of "Benny Hill" with me chasing this ****** around plinking at it from behind.

Obviously this was before the incline nerf so the the Jenner pilot was taking me to some "interesting" topology to say the least...

Finally, I had inflicted enough damage the Jenner was desperate to shake me... He bolted up a spire, I gave chase and I believe his intent was to JJ off the top, knowing I did not have JJs and I would have to decide whether to disengage or leap off the top, essentially killing myself though impact damage...

He flew off the top, I slammed on the brakes and managed to just avoid going over and in a last ditch effort fired an alpha which in turn cored the Jenner.

End game... we won and "I" won.

I was one of those matches where you actually feel exhausted at the end because of the tension the engagement created. Real pucker factor... ;)

Goot stuff.

I was playing Conquest in my Raven 2X on Frozen City when the battle boiled down to me vs two heavily damaged Jagers. One of the ******** legged me with an AC20 shot but I fired a laser aplha into his CT and took him down. At this point I knew I was screwed, since I had lost my mobility and the other Jager was likely packing twin heavy ACs too.

So, he comes up over the hill and shoots a heavy metal volley of death at me... and he misses. I think checked his damage, saw his right torso was exposed and red, and fired another laser alpha into his torso. popping his XL and winning the game. Everyone on my team said I was their hero. :)

It was probably my most epic moment in gaming ever.
