As for re-selling or giving away equipment, that's something they don't plan to implement, primarily because then that gives users with questionable morality a reason to access other players accounts and make illicit transactions, nto to mention black-market sales of used goods.

And "gold farmers" and "bots". Don't need those overrunning the servers.

There's going to be a sort of 'black market' with higher premiums, as for lower costs with community warfare the possession of planets with factories will make certain goods cheaper.

For example the possession of a planet housing Coventry Metal Works factories would grant you cheaper access to Commando 2D, FS9-H Firestarter, and FS9-S Firestarter.

But another team with possession of Kali-Yama Weapons Industries would get cheaper Orions (ON1-M) as well as a discount on Trebuchets.

On Trebuchets, let's say they want a better discount! For them to get the Trebuchets even cheaper, they need to own all the factories associated with building one. Corean Enterprises builds the Chassis (skeleton) for it. The materials for its endo-steel structure are produced by Irian Battlemechs Unlimited. IBU also produces a number of engine types and weapon systems that could further discount the Trebs for the team that owns them.

To own them, you must first lay claim to the planets that hold them.
Bryan's example at the launch party stated "100 points" to take over a planet. Each point being 1 victory at that planet. Considering that there are "thousands" of battles each day it's not as daunting as it initially sounds.

So, give it time. Figure PGI will be about 3 months late -- they usually are at least that late -- and you'll be able to find your discounts.

nice concept. but it´s less about paying less than getting more for I dont want to use anymore but someone else might find useful.

why pay a lot of cbills for lets say a Gauss if I can trade in a few med lasers for it as well

I'm sure we can all agree that giving your stuff to other players is good; the issue is, how do you do that without making it easy for people to farm mechs, sell them for cash under the table, and reap a profit at PGI's expense? It's a prickly issue and is much more complicated than 'can i please give my old mech to my friend'.

Not only that, but you have some long time players who have millions of CBills sitting around doing nothing, who could jumpstart players by selling them 3-4 mechs on the cheap. That's play time that otherwise would have been spent grinding, perhaps causing the player to buy premium time or buy their own mech. It would also create a secondary market for Hero Mechs, which is not a great idea as far as PGI is concerned.

At the moment, the only way to give a player something is to give them a Universal Game Card (or whatever they are) and let them buy it with MC. It is mildly annoying, but it provides some level of security by simply not making abuse possible.

Suggestions (to PGI) don't seem to be used or welcome but maybe it is just me. Good luck with that.
