I Might Like To Get A Clan Mech A La Carte, But $55 For A Hero Mech With No Extras Is Insanity

Sure, you throw in two other variants and two mech bays, but I have loads of mech bays and would have bought those variants with c-bills anyway, so they aren't even a factor.

Since I'm looking at the Nova, I could get the package for $5 more and get the Kit Foxes included plus a badge and a title, but I don't care about any of those, either.

The unique bonus module might be something cool, but who knows? Warhorn may or may not be cool, depending on the sound it plays. No one knows what the hanging cockpit item will be. But none of those are included, so it doesn't matter even if they are things I'd want.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is...

It's simple.

A La Cart - Allows you to select a higher packaged battlemech like the Warhawk for 55.00 instead of 240.00. To the person only interested in owning a Warhawk its a win.

If you're interested in purchasing the Kitfox and ONLY the Kitfox....well buying A La Cart is kind of moronic.

If you want clan tech early, you must pay for it. The options are listed, use common sense. Whats the fuss about?

Just because they charge $240 for the package doesn't make $55 for a hero a win. That's double the price of the assault heroes already for sale.

Fuss isn't really the right word. I'm disappointed, I suppose. "If you don't want to buy it, don't," is totally valid but misses the point. I won't buy it, and that's fine. But I can tell them why.

How many times do I need to point this out? You only pay $30 for the Warhawk, the $210 are for the other 7 you get with it. Making me pay $25 extra on A La Carte is just another way of saying "we will squeeze as much out of you as we can".

The fuss is about cheapskates, space poors, and entitled whiners somehow believing that they should get it for free or close to that because they have no idea how a business functions, and eyxpecting PGI to cave in if they whine long and hard enough. ;)

Seriously, guys, its been 3 months, either get a life or get a job.

Pay $5 more and get the Ullers and mechbays along with 5 monthly reward/phoenix loyalty cockpit items too? Not too difficult a solution if you are looking for the Nova.

@ Felio, I get where your coming from. But if you point is to tell them why I missed that completely, I see nothing in your post about why. If it's just to rant then expect more than a few of the community to reiterate what has been said many times before. Don't take it personally, it's just a rehash of other threads you could have posted on.

@ Nathan K. Actually the Warhawk is $55 like all of the Clan mechs, BUT if you buy them in a package PGI generously give you a discount. Kinda like buying more banana's you get a cheaper price per banana. That's nice of them right, I agree. You should maybe say thanks to them for doing what most companies do with package deals. It's very standard stuff and nice to see them not ripping us off by holding to $55- per mech even if we buy 8.

The main benefit to these releases is early access, as everything will be eventually become available for free, and if you are just after the C-Bill bonus and nothing else just wait for the Hero version of that chassis (or the stock chassis for free and spend that case on premium time, which doubles both c-bills and xps, a huge benefit when grinding out chassis).

Its actually a lot less than $55 per mech if you break it down....

I did this quick calculation a wee while ago, you get (if you purchased before end of Feb):

30 Days prem time = 2500 mc
1 each of hanging, standing and mounted cockpit items = approx 500 + 500 + 500 (may vary) 1500 mc
3 colors, most of which are 1000 mc each to unlock = 3000 mc
3 mechbays = 300 mc ea, so 900 mc

So all up, value is about 7000 - 8000 mc give or take, which is around $25 - $30 USD.

Which means, worst case scenario, buying *insert favorite mech* a la carte = $30 USD, or around 7000 - 8000 MC.

ie, each mech you get costs you 2500 MC, which is the equivalent of a 35 tonner hero, like Ember or Oxide.

This is the worst case scenario, someone please let me know if I have messed up the math.

And yes, you may not "NEED" more mechbays, or colours, or fancy items, but regardless you get those items which you would otherwise have had to pay for.
